  • By the way, I LOVE MY DOG. She's my baby. I won't be getting rid of her, despite my complaining about the hair and smells. And, yes, I put her outside for the sake of a laugh for the video. But she was let back in moments later with pets and treats.
  • @JensSchraeder
She should put a sign on the door "DUE TO THE SIZE OF THIS TINY HOUSE, FARTING IS RESTRICTED TO OUTDOOR AREAS ONLY"
  • @waasnoode986
I think a lot of people commenting are taking this the wrong way. There's so many videos out there that highlight the good but not the bad/inconvenient. Videos like this help people make informed decisions so they don't invest their money in something that won't make them happy. She's not attacking tiny houses or trying to convince people not to buy one, just be aware of some of the issues
  • @r1ashad
Wow, someone that actually speaks about the issues and the real things you have to consider in a tiny house!
  • At least she was honest about living in a tiny house. First time I heard that. More people should be like her. Most people act like it is so ''GREAT'' living this way.
  • @kityenna9839
I don’t even know 4 people, i think this will work perfectly
  • @74dartman13
I watch a tiny house show on tv and they rarely ever talk about the negatives. It was nice to see someone talking about reality, for a change. 🙂
  • I'm in Victoria, BC and I seriously looked at getting a tiny house a few years ago, but none of the municipalities in BC will allow them. It's so stupid; we're in the middle of a horrendous housing crisis, and this perfect answer is right there, but they're not allowed!! So frustrating!! Take care 🥰🚙🇨🇦
  • I've been living in hotels and tents for 4 years. My son and I are wanting to build a tiny home to save money and have stability. I appreciate this video because I would not have even thought about things like parking and insurance. After living in a single room and a tent for so long I can deal with the dirt and smell and crowding.

Negative aspects: When you're having sex you literally rock the house. Positive aspects: When you're having sex you literally rock the house.
  • This is an honest video: tiny house is not for everybody. Everything has its advantages and limitations.
  • @StevanGaskill
I loved your whole presentation, being thoughtful, humorous, lighthearted yet serious, informative and so gracefully done. Bravo! and Thank you for such a realistic understanding of what it's like for you.
  • @dawns1978
I love the idea of living in a tiny house, but in reality I know I could never be happy in that small of a space or dealing with the toilet. I do love to see how creative people are with their small spaces though.
  • @mcs_drinkwater
I think a tiny house would be perfect for when you’ve just graduated and are trying to figure out the next step in life.
  • @ephesians28-93
Thanks for your honesty about small house living. I am back to plan B - a Castle in the Swiss Alps.

Good job! And THANK YOU for telling it like it is! Every point you make is spot on! In 2017 I moved into a rented 340 sq. ft., one bedroom cottage-duplex-style unit. It was my second time downsizing and was strictly out of necessity, as rental housing is rare as golden eggs, in my county, and this was the only affordable place available for the year and a half I was looking for a place. But I decided if I'm downsizing to this degree, I would do it right. When my landlord visited after I was fully moved in, she made an assumption, saying "So you have a storage unit." I said no, if I downsize, I downsize for real. If something doesn't fit into my living space, it doesn't fit into my life. After that, when I first moved in, every female friend or family member who visited would admire the place and say 'Oooh, I could live here! Yeah, I could do this!' Many, many more women believe they can let go of their stuff, and let go of the conveniences that more space gives you, but the reality is very different. I've seen people try, and fail. That said, I make it work because I want it to work, and have learned to let go of 'stuff' so I can focus on a simpler life. I'm even considering a studio unit next. This will probably offend some folks, but if a person of an age who no longer has kids at home, and maybe is divorced/single, thinks they can make tiny life permanent, and they move, but are also paying over $1000 a year for a storage unit for all the things they or a family member 'might need' and/or that are sentimental to them ... They haven't really gone tiny. They still have emotional or mental umbilical cords to material stuff. And while that IS their choice, that's not downsizing or simplifying, and it is definitely not the 'tiny' life philosophy.
  • When I go tiny, I will be using sleeping bags instead of sheets and bed covers, for the sole purpose, not to make a bed. I have taken my camping experiences and paid attention. Great Video!
  • @ccr5757
It’s all fine and dandy until you let one rip and suffocate
  • @angelaxu110
Sorry I laughed so hard when you put your dog out alone with your trash bag? The look on your dog's face, 'eh, what have I done?' So cute! 😄
  • For your smell issue, an old trick is boiling water and vinegar on the stove. It neutralizes it.
