Roger Hodgson, co-founder of Supertramp, is the singer/songwriter of this exquisite opus, Fool's Overture. Roger, one of the greatest writers and composers of our time, originally had three separate pieces of music that one day magically came together and became this treasure. GREAT NEWS! Roger is on Tour, selling out shows all over the globe - visit www.RogerHodgson.com/ www.facebook.com/RogerHodgson

"Fool's Overture is one of my favorite pieces that I've ever written. It was very magical the way it came together. It was actually three separate pieces of music that I had for a few years and then, one day, they kind of all slotted together in what I think is a magnificent, kind of epic piece of music. I always imagined performing it with an orchestra, so when I did start playing with orchestras back in the '90s, it was such a thrill to play this song. I still get goosebumps to this day every time I play it with an orchestra." ~ Roger Hodgson

Roger gave us the great majority of Supertramp's hits to include Dreamer, The Logical Song, Give a Little Bit, Breakfast in America, School, Hide in Your Shell, It's Raining Again, Take the Long Way Home, and many more. Although Roger & Supertramp's other co-founder shared writing credit, they actually wrote & composed separately with each singing their own songs. bit.ly/1Kfgu0W

"It may have been the BEST concert I have ever seen. Roger's voice is even better than it was when he was with Supertramp. My friends and I were blown away by your sheer talent. I would highly recommend anyone to go see Roger live if they can."

"Your music and more importantly, your enthusiasm for expressing your music to the audience is inspiring ! I felt that you sang each and every song with a passion.. not just a empty or bland repetition of sameness ! Thank for a wonderful evening !"

"You are not only an accomplished, professional gifted musical genius, but a truly heart-warming and graceful person (and comical too because you had the audience laughing both nights). You really do have an amazing connection with the audience, and as a performer you raise the bar higher that only a handful can come close to reaching..."

This is from an era when music was produced by real musicians. I discovered Supertramp in my late teens but this still has the ability to move me 40 years later. Sheer genius!

I remember going from my hometown, CHICAGO to Alpine Valley concert hall to see Supertramp. We couldn't get any seats so we were up on the grass and it had rained and we all had soaked feet and wet asses but we didn't care 1bit cuz we were so mesmerized by the music. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. It was 8/82. I framed most of my concert tickets and found great wall art in them and I went to ALOT OF CONCERTS. Life was fun and good and much simpler than life is now that I m 62 and just survived breast cancer surgery on top of having MS. I'm glad I did all that crazy shit when I was younger. Best Era to live in ever.
  • Io sono cresciuto con gli album dei SUPERTRAMP. E ogni volta che ne usciva uno nuovo per me era un tesoro da preservare e conservare.GRAZIE SUPERTRAMP

I love this band. I could listen to every song every day. Would never get old.
  • It was Juan, receptionist of the hotel we stayed in late 1978, Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria, who had me listen to Supertramp the first time.. Crime of the Century is an amazing album, the magic I experienced the first time I heard this music, just never went away.. Thx Roger

  • I discovered Supertramp when I was 20. It didn't take long before they became my favorite group and music to listen to. Fools Overture still gives me goosebumps when I listen to it at the age of 66. I'm so glad I took my son and daughter to their concerts.
  • My mom use to listen to Supertramp all the time when me and my brother was little.....brings back some very great and wonderful memories.
  • Oh yeah!!! This song is a forever hit! Roger is outstanding and the orchestra is just astonishing! ♥♥♥
  • I first came in contact with your music when I was overseas my wife brought it to my attention and I haven't stopped listening to it since I think it's the best music I've ever heard and I've been around for 68 years thank you for all the good music and good listening fantastic

This song is a masterpiece itself, but with an orchestra is sublime. I was very fortunate to have enjoyed it with orchestra in Valladolid a few years ago. I wish I could repeat such a unique experience...

It is a beautiful song. I'm flabbergasted somebody can write this.
  • This man is a musical genius and the only reason that I started playing the piano at the age of 12. After listening to Crime of the Century album for the hundredth time, I went to the piano and without even knowing what note I was playing, figured out all of the songs. 38 years later, after a long career as a musician, I still know them.

I am 47 and am so grateful being the youngest of 6 and having been introduced to this amazing music at such a young age. I have never stopped listening and I never will. True genius! ❣️❣️❣️

Ahhhh, to have discovered Supertramp whilst in Paris, the mid-seventies, with my entire life in front of me, twenty three years of age! To this day, forty three years passing, their music speaks to my soul. Sheer perfection!! For you, my dear friend, Steve, who left us only a few days ago.....your boat put out to sea upon the wings of time.....xoxo

Grande pezzo scritto da Roger Hodgson che eseguir con l’ausilio dell’ orchestra assume più maestosità e bellezza. Roger è visibilmente emozionato qui
