THE SONG is "get the F#$k up" by Pharoah Monch

The only true bad thing that this movie has is the fact that it's not being shown in every cinema in America. Witch is a real shame.
  • @geardog24
I’m so used to seeing Godzilla fighting other monsters while destroying cities. Seeing him just straight out killing civilians is a shock.
  • @King2000.
Japan almost never disappoints when it comes to godzilla movies
  • @Nightlizard1564
Really hope this movie at least gets nominated for best picture cause it absolutely deserves it

An actual plot and characters I care about? It was so good!

I cried so many times in this movie. I've not been moved by acting like this in a long long time. It's a beautifully dark human drama FULL of empathy, pain and compassion. But it will make you smile, and cheer, it's so easy to care for EVERY. single. character. on screen. That's a very rare thing in a movie today. It must be emphasized respectfully, it isn't just a Kaiju movie, this is actually Cinema.

I was worried that the characters were going to die and I've never felt that happen in a Godzilla movie before.

This may very well be the most vicious Godzilla I've seen. Loved seeing the Big G be just an absolute menace EDIT: I NEED THAT VOICE OVER FOR THIS GODZILLA!

I saw this with my brother, who usually has the emotional capacity of a rock, and he actually got teary-eyed when the little girl cried. It may have something to with the fact that he has 2 little daughters.

Na I cried, I laughed, I held my breath. This movie got real emotions out of me. During the attack on Ginza my heart dropped. This movie isn't just a good Godzilla movie, its a great piece of cinema
  • One thing I like about this Godzilla is that he is relatively small. He's only 50 meters tall compared to the 118-meter Monsterverse, the 120-meter Shin and the 300-meter Godzilla Earth. To the bigger Godzillas, they scarcely notice humans like specks. But this smaller Godzilla sees them, knows they're there, and ACTIVELY hates them.

So Alteori, one thing you might have missed in regards to Gojira's theme is that for the first time since the original 1954 film, the used both (yes both) themes for their intended purpose. When Gojira was on screen, you were hearing the original theme for Gojira. The second part (when the human characters were taking action) is actually the theme for Humanity. This is legitimately the best film in the "Gojira" series since the original (which I STRONGLY recommend you watch next, though I would warn you, when I first saw the original Japanese version in theaters, I ugly cried manly tears of manliness).

It's so crazy how it took Toho this long to realize that making Godzilla bigger wasn't the solution. You gotta establish a good setting that you care about only to have Godzilla screw it up. It gives weight to his destruction. I really hope this movie does well so we can can get more of them. Despite only cost 15 million dollars it looks hella good. In both screenings the audience got up to clap, that's how much of a good impression this movie made and we cannot forget to appreciate the actors who brought their A game to what could have been a forgettable monster movie but they were the heart of it.

I’ve now seen this movie Five Times in theaters, as of now it is easily one of the best Godzilla movies ever made, it’s made it in my Top 3 alongside Gojira(1954) and Shin Gojira. Great story, great pacing, great atmosphere, great characters, great acting, great effects, and definitely one the best Depictions of Godzilla to this day right up there with 1954, 1984, GMK, and Shin.

It's a must-see on the Big Screen!! This has brought back some great movie vibes!!
  • I loved how Godzilla was staring at everything he destroyed like he was pleased with himself
  • @alexkogan9755
I’d rather save the more explicit details for the spoiler review, but this movie not only takes elements of the best films, but even aspects of some of the more overlooked films in the franchise and not only improves on them but even SHOWS us things that were only ever implied in the past. Heck it even one-ups the Jurassic Park movies at a certain scene. I hope Yamazaki gets his wish and we get another film from him, preferably a sequel because Minus One deserves it, and I’m tired of Toho doing just one-offs.
