The Supreme Court’s toughest cases during Chief Justice John Roberts’ tenure have often generated internal suspense, with shifting votes, last-minute switches and the chief’s own push toward compromises that would lessen the appearance of politics. Not so this spring, when the six Republican-appointed conservatives established a far-reaching immunity from prosecution for former President Donald Trump. CNN’s Joan Biskupic reports. #CNN #News

This wasn’t about Trump I don’t want any president to have that much power

He's a fraud and should be fired! So tired of seeing the worst people in the country making laws the rest of us have no choice but to follow while they get away with whatever they want.

No one is above the law... except Trump. There is a Double Standard of justice in America.

Robert’s is a shameless liar. In many ways he’s worse than Thomas and Alito, at least they give it the middle finger and go ‘come on then, try and stop me!’ Roberts is like that in private, but in public it’s like ‘let’s see if we can’t accommodate both sides’.

The Supreme Court is such a joke. Remember when the GOP would criticize legislating from the bench? Hypocrites.
  • @jsmcguireIII
Roberts has succeeded in delegitimizing our Supreme Court.

corrupt and something immediately needsto be done concerning this!
  • @manspike44
44 Presidents before Trump didn’t need absolute immunity.

The illusion of impartiality among federal judges dissipates when you look at the statistics of how often decisions fall along political party lines.

Let's not play games here. That ruling for immunity was the single most destructive act against American democracy. I now strongly suggest voting solid blue.

That United States Supreme Court stinks from here 🇨🇦.

The Supreme Court needs an overhaul, with our present corrupted Congress it will never happen.
  • That part about Roberts requiring the justices to "leave their politics behind" is the biggest load of crap in this whole story.
