Understanding the genius of Gravity Falls and exactly what made it special is relatively easy. The best Gravity Falls episodes span mystery, puzzles and action and do all of it well. Disney may have created their best show and it lasted only two seasons. While there is no season 3, Dipper and Bill are still a topic of conversation in animation. Gravity Falls and all its weirdmageddon strangeness is one of modern animations best shows.

What show, any show, would you want to see make a comeback?

"I'll let you know that duck-tective is an adults' show and has many jokes that go over kids' heads" Best meta joke ever
  • Gravity Falls have the best Cartoon quotes "When there's no cops around, anything's legal!"

My only problem with gravity falls is that every time i rewatch this, i wish i had a fresh mind, not knowing any of the plot or secrets, i cant wait to show this to my kids one day
  • @scptime1188
It feels like Gravity Falls is just masquerading as a kids show and really it's just meant for adults. It's insane how good it is and how well it all fits together.

I love how this shows fandom sometimes dies but then all of a sudden it just returns out of nowhere

the "get 'em" dude have a hard time choosing between puma shirt and panther shirt, shows up a couple episodes later with half puma half panther shirt

The reason no one other than the fans has given it a shot is because everyone who gives it a shot becomes a fan

in the second episode, stan mentions how he spent his time fishing without the kids "talking to his reflection." stan was talking to his reflection, in a boat named the stan o' war (the name he and ford had given their boat when they were kids.) i don't think it's a stretch to say he was imagining himself hanging out on the boat with ford like they'd planned :(

I can’t believe I didn’t realize that Stan was reminded of his brother, I really thought he was just being narcissistic.

Fun fact: Hirsch once said he had a plan for a 3 season show with the end of season 2 being the reveal of Ford but he cut it down because people had correctly figured out what it was and he didn’t want to drag it out if everyone knew already. That’s some dedication to avoiding filler.

I don’t think there’ll ever be another show like gravity falls, and I mean that in a good way. The show was so incredibly unique, complex, and entertaining all in one lovable, memorable package. An unforgettable experience in every sense of the phrase.

I’m a 70 year old grandpa and I was watching my grandkids and I started watching this show with them and I could not believe how well written this cartoon was.
  • I like the moment when Mabel tells Pacifica that she’s a bleach blond rich girl stereotype

“If you've ever taken a road trip through the Pacific Northwest, you've probably seen a bumper sticker for a place called "Gravity Falls". It's not on any maps, and most people have never heard of it. Some people think it's a myth. But if you're curious, don't wait. Take a trip. Find it. It's out there somewhere in the woods. Waiting.” ~ Dipper

Love that it didn't underestimated the mind of a kid. It shows some dark moments that kids understand. It wasn't afraid to cross the childish line in cartoons while not being an adult cartoon

I convinced my mom to watch Gravity Falls, she watched the first episode with me. I was so happy. She laughed out loud, I saw her shocked expression when Norman turned out to be a bunch of gnomes, it was something that we could watch together, having fun. I just want to see the look on her face when she watches Not What He Seems!
  • @zaiden_2006
I’d say the funniest jokes were the ones that played on cliché jokes. Kind of like the part of Double Dipper when Dipper says: “We’re not gonna turn on each other like in the movies, right?”
  • I love how even the minor characters had a loveable and valid role in the strange town of Gravity falls. Makes me feel like I took an actual vacation there, and now I miss it :/
  • When Gravity Falls for came out, I was at that weird age where you reject everything that seems kidish. So, when I saw the trailers for each episode and the absurd humor was highlighted. I felt it wasn't for me. Well, years passed and a friend told me I'd probably love the show if I gave it a shot. So, last year I decided to binge it all with my new Disney + account and was amazed how good it was. Before, I wouldn't give it a second thought, and now it's possibly my favorite animated show of all time
