How the Iraq War Led to More Extremism in the World | Birth of a Monster | Investigative documentary from 2016

For the past 12 years, journalist Paul Moreira has traveled extensively in Iraq. In this personal film, he goes in search of the men he filmed back in 2003, at the very beginning of the American occupation. Through their stories, and by tracing the roots of ISIS to the arrival of Abu Mousab Al-Zarqawi and America’s handling of the resistance, he tells the story of how Iraq became such a fractured nation. He also explains how events in Iraq came to trigger attacks in Europe.

"They got rid from one Sadam and created 1000 other"
  • It was not by default but by design.. A kid who watched his entire family wiped out by a drone years ago wouldn't have any problems joining a terror outfit that promised him the most remote chance at vengeance.

We sent our men to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. They soon learned what a pointless endeavor it was. After realizing what they were participating in, they came home with deep regrets and confusion about what is right and wrong. These men are now suffering mentally and physically. For what?

I served in the Army and deployed to Baghdad twice. I dont blame anyone for trying to fight us because we were invading their country. I would do the same. I recognize a few of the locations in this video. Iraq is a beautiful country with wonderful people. I feel terrible about what we did to the people there. Im sorry for my involvement and wish nothing but love to the Iraqi people.

Don't ever forget that that's exactly what America's elite wanted

Where can I see an uncensored version of this? The story loses all meaning when you blur out every important part

US should pay for war reparations and people responsible for unjust war should be brought to justice.

Great piece of journalism. The more you know … Thank you.
  • I really hope US is proud. No amount of shoving down your ideology down other people's throats justify this suffering. OMG man

If all you are going to show are sensored images just don't even upload or show it's so frustrating
  • @euanreid6682
That was their goal in the first place to provide endless conflicts to fuel their Military Industrial complex.
  • If you HIDE a TON of footage then there is no point in putting up the "documentary".
