“The history of Trunks” will forever be my favorite DBZ film.. That movie was like a roller coaster when I first saw it.. I cried my eyes out when 17 and 18 killed future Gohan 😭 but Trunks came through when he got his get back 😎 that solidified it for me
  • The old Dragon Ball Z Movie art style and animation is what I still considered the very best among the rest regardless of how bad some of their movies were. Dragon Ball Super: Broly's animation and art style somewhat came close though, but DBZ movies' are definitely iconic, and not just because I'm being nostalgic. If they've used the same DBZ movie art style and animation today it will still be considered a top tier quality animation.

Although some may disagree, really always enjoyed Bardok's movie the most. As almost a prequel to the entire series and franchise ad a whole, the pretty brutal and harrowing story of death and defiance is great in action and story really. The extended version also adds a little something cool (regardless if it's canon or not).

Cooler’s first movie is still my personal favorite. His transformation is still badass. Wish they gave Frieza something similar. Loved Brody going SS the first time. That scream was primal. And the family kamehemeha is 🔥🔥🔥
  • The OG Broly movie was god damn amazing. Especially at the time, it was crazy. Seeing Goku hit Broly with a Full Power Kamehameha right in his face, with Broly not even having a scratch on him, that was awesome. Albeit, the ending was kind of run of the mill for DBZ. I guess there wasn't much to do against Broly, especially when they made him so OP. But Bojacks movie is also a classic. It proved that DBZ can work without Goku being directly the main protagonist. Bojack being a Chad until Gohan went SSJ2 and merked him was awesome to see.

Maybe I'm bias but I remember watching "Fusion Reborn" tripping on Shrooms and it was the most amazing animation I've ever seen 😎👍

Return of Cooler had so much potential, it really could/should have been a top 5 movie. However the base of the plot where cooler just happens to get a random super chip floating around in space that can create metal clones of himself that are stronger than super saiyans had to much plot convenience to make it all work.

Going back home after school and watching this movies on tv are maybe some of the happiest moments I’ve had until now.

The Tree of Might, the World's Strongest, the History of Trunks and the Legendary Super Saiyan are dear childhood memories for me. The Super: Broly Movie was awesome too; that's my top 5 in no order.
  • ‘History of Trunks’ could easily be a movie today with or without the ‘DBZ’ moniker. The story is just THAT good. My personal #1 💯🤘🔥

As much as I love the DBS: Broly movie, I still love the older DBZ movies even though none of them are considered canon. I may be a bit biased here because of nostalgic reasons, but the quality of work in the animation and the well detailed art style that shows little to no sloppiness to them. Some if not most of the plot may not be as compelling compared to other animated movies in general, but the enjoyment factor watching the animation smoothly go on frame by frame shows that the artists and animators did put a lot of hard work into them. The newer animated movies rely too much on CGI and other advance methods that doesn't always look quite as good and lack details. If they have only used the same quality and art style as what they used on the older DBZ movies or better yet the opening of Final Bout then it would most certainly stand the test of time.

Unpopular opinion, I love the Lord Slug movie. Freezing the planet was a unique take on planet domination, the minions all had cool abilities and designs, and the "False Super Saiyan" transformation looks sick as hell. And when Slug regenerated his arm, revealed he was a Namekian, and used his giant form, it genuinely surprised me (keep in mind, I was 11-12 when I first saw it). On top of that, the Goku/Piccolo Kaio-Ken is one of the best, and most brutal, uses of the Kaio-Ken I've ever seen.
  • Here’s a recommendation Watchmojo. Top 10 Dragon Ball arcs. And whatever you do don’t say that the Namek Saga, Ginyu Saga and Frieza Saga are three different arcs. If it follows Goku and his friends on Namek using the Dragon Balls to bring back their dead friends and defeat Frieza it’s the whole Frieza saga.
  • Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan will always be my favorite. Why does every villain in anime always have to have a plan, purpose, or goal to achieve? In real life, many villains are those who are understood the least. This movie makes Broly a mentally unstable villain that is simply out of control with his enormous power. While he is cruel and sadistic, we can’t say that he is pure evil. His conscious is simply absent after the training by his father, the scars of his birth and attempted murder, and years under his father’s mind control. In addition, he is given a certain appearance of invincibility and ever rising unlimited power reminiscent of superheroes like Superman, Hulk, and The Juggernaut. His strength is immense and it seems that every single attack against him, whether energy based or physical, is completely ineffective. His lack of personal character only makes him more terrifying because without very much character development, the Z fighters are left without a clue about what Broly wants nor how to stop him. The environment color change only highlights the fact that his power is otherworldly compared to any other character.
  • I have a few problems with this list but how can you not mention the amazing sound tracks of the old movies, in my opinion the first cooler movie has one of the best soundtrack's out of any movie, and 10s by Pantera as brolys theme always gives me chills
  • Honestly, I feel like nothing touches the intro to Coolers Revenge. That was so heat, from Bardocks speech to Frieza destroying Planet Vegeta to Coolers speech. Chills.
  • @ralpheid905
Well technically the episodes of trunks and bardock are not films but tv specials.
  • @godawson74
Once again Tree of Might is drastically underrated
