Tommy Morrison will forever remain one of the most tragic figures throughout pugilistic history. In the 90s the blond giant with a chiseled silhouette was the embodiment of a knockout machine. But the prominent heavyweight’s career was cut short in the prime of his potential, suddenly and irrevocably. Today we remember the legendary power and dramatic path of boxing’s "great white hope".

Sometimes no matter how many fights a man has, his greatest battle is with himself.

Tommy is one of my favourites. A fast pace and go for broke fighter, he always gave your money's worth. One of the good boxers of the golden 90s. Rest in peace champ.

He lived life in the fast lane but he was in his early 20s, being a top boxer and in a hit movie like Rocky I think many of us could have acted the same way. RIP Tommy

Addiction can derail any career. Tommy's story reminds me to be so grateful for my sobriety today. RIP brother!

I like the fact that he always knew when his opponent was down and never took a cheap shot.

Wow, this channel really knows how to capture the essence of boxing legends, and the Tommy Morrison story is no exception. It's a poignant reminder that talent can shine incredibly bright but can also dim too soon. Morrison was a beast in the ring, a knockout machine that had fans on the edge of their seats. But his story also serves as a cautionary tale, a lesson about the fragility of life and how quickly fortunes can change. Thank you for doing justice to the complexity of his legacy. I'm eagerly waiting for your next deep dive into the universe of boxing history. 👊🌟

What a shame. Tommy was a pure beast. I remember watching his fights as a kid in the 80’s an90’s. His left hook was insane.

To who ever took part producing this, Thank you for 26m:18s of amazing historic footage. To this day I never knew who Tommy Morrison was but I'm glad I now know his story and his struggle.

I think you told his story incredibly well. It's rare for people to give credit to figures like this, generally media loves to demonize. Great video.

R.I.P. Tommy Morrison...sometimes the hardest punches are not thrown by you... They are thrown at you by the life you choose to lead.

When I first saw Rocky V, I really liked Tommy, I was a kid and didn't know he was really a boxer until probably 10 years ago I came across his story. One thing I learned in life..no matter how tough we are, there's no worse battle then the ones in your head

We all have challenges in life. This life is only temporary… it’s about what we chose to do with it. Family is most important second to the almighty. Be good to each other and spread peace and happiness.

I met tommy Morrison on the job in Atlantic city back in the early 1990's I was a blackjack dealer at harrahs casino. He played at my table in a disguise when I said hello he asked me to keep it quiet as guys were always challenging him. He was very calm and didn't bet a lot of money but seemed pretty normal. Other fighters I've met were bone crusher smith, vinny pazienza, get this Joe Frazier lived in my town. We've had drinks at the local bar where he had Joe Frazier night he would collect money for charity. he was a great guy, he had a lot of scars on his face and head.
