Murder By Bramble - Complete AU MAP

The idea of them becoming prey everytime is creative and also bone chilling

BAHAHAHA the chat typing "NOOOOO" on nearly every cat then going silent on Onestar brought me straight to tears. 😂

THE FACT THAT HE WAS SO USED TO THE POINTING THAT WHEN IT WAS AT HAWK HE JUST AUTOCHARGED IS SO SPOOKY AND EPIC ???!! EVERYONE DID SO AWESOME THIS IS STUNNING!

I love how you never get to see brambleclaw ACTUALLY killing the cats, just the prey versions of them. Its like he pretends to himself that he only sees them as something he needs to kill to survive, thus taking the guilt off him. Its such an interesting au, and the blood slowly covering more of brambleclaw as he continues his rampage is chilling. The imagery in this map has got to be one of my favs!

I love how the Spirits don't even look angry at BrambleStar or even cry. They barely move or show emotion which even made me feel uneasy! I love this MAP so much!

2:36 brambleclaw rolling his eyes and saying ‘hawkfrost’ is SUCH cool detail,, he’s so done but hawk still holds that grip on him. THIS WAS SUCH A COOL MAP TO PARTICIPATE IN!! thank you so much for having me!

I think my favourite part is at 2:01 , since Tawneypelt runs away as fast as she could. However, Brambleclaw is at least twice as fast as her ( kinda showing how he's becoming less and less cat-like ). He's literally in the part for a few seconds, and I love how he's closer to the camera than tawneypelt was. Just thought it was cool.

one thing i noticed at the very end is that, even if squirrelflight doesnt die, her spirit still shows in brambles pov. in havent fully read the script and im not sure if this was the intent, however im to believe that its not the ghost of the cats haunting bramble, but rather brambles self cautious fighting against his brother, bramble GENUINELY believed he killed squilf and thats why he saw her pointing at him because he knew that she wouldn't have wanted this, and it spiralled to "no one wants this" in his head and therefor made him kill hawkfrost

i wanna talk about the "ghosts" bc like, i dont actually think their the actual ghost, i belive that the ghost are a figment of brambles twisted mind. we can see this here 3:07 as squilfs ghost is shown, but in the end credits we see squilf still alive and breathing. this means that the pointing scene was all bramble!! he wanted hawkfrost dead in that moment!! IN THIS ESSAY I WILL-

this whole map is a work of art but i have to give props for 2:01 because i never really see camera work be utilised in map projects and it was done flawlessly. really adds so much to the intensity of the chase as well as brambleclaw stumbling over the camera just being a nice touch

* clawing frantically at the bars of my enclosure * I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT'S FINISHED?! I ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS CONCEPT AND AU THE MOMENT I SAW THE CALL AND I'M SO HAPPY IT'S COMPLETE!! I CAN'T WAIT edit: oh man that was even better than i could have possibly imagined... the chills i got from both the talent of each animator and the utter bleakness present throughout the whole project is truly unmatched! the animators pulled off this dark atmosphere and sheer hopelessness with each ruthless kill of his "prey" as brambleclaw slowly lost himself completely so flawlessly! the pre-production team, the perfect storyboarding, and the well-crafted storytelling also played a huge part in making this whole thing very seamless and all of it combined made this definitely one of my favorite wc aus and maps to date! hats off and congrats to ben, every animator, and each and every person involved! ❤

THIS MAP IS FANTASTIC AND SO SPOOKY! Seeing Bramble slowly going insane and becoming an emotionless killing machine was so creepy to watch. Every death and the prey symbolism was so well done, plus the ghosts are so incredibly eerie. (Also, the post credits scene revealing that Squirrelflight is still alive, oh what a relief. But there is someone out there ) That's a great way to start the holidays Everyone did awesome!

1:54 I really like Brambleclaw's look of up-coming regret and worry, knowing that Hawkfrost will point at her, thus making him kill her.

I literally cannot express how much I love this. The way the scenery gets darker, and Bramblestar looks more emotionless, and the blood is the only noticeable thing as the MAP goes on, is truly spine-chilling. The end credit song really adds to it, as well as the scene at the end that implies Squirrelflight is actually alive.

The gloomy sinister atmosphere is just so perfect! All of the parts blended super well with each other, and it captured Bramble's descent to insansity in such an intruiging manner. Well done to the animators!

The eerie chill feeling of Bramble losing all empathy and emotion, the starclan cats cold stares that gave off slight disappointment and sadness, as they use Hawkfrost’s trick, His weapon, against him. This map is amazing good job to all the animators.

So, if I understand correctly, they weren't actually ghosts. They were just Bramble's consciousness haunting him since we can clearly see in the very end that Squirrel is still alive. Bramble basically didn't want any of this, he just wanted to help Hawk because they were kin and he went too far, and at one point - when Hawk literally ordered him to k!ll the cat he loved the most - he had enough, and his mind was like "No way bro, let's put an end to this". If so, I absolutely love that idea.

So proud of my fellow participants in this project. Murder by bramble means so much to me, and I’m so happy to have been given a space on the project. Such intelligent, creative artists have worked on this project and I hope it gets the recognition in the fandom that it deserves. Again, it was a pleasure working on this project and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next sketch <3

As someone who is a SUCKER for death scenes/animations, this is now one of, if not my favorite MAPS. The way it cuts to the prey being killed, the difference in the way they die, the way the ghosts look as they haunt him, it’s just GRAHAHSH SO GOOD!!! ❤❤ Edit: WATCH AFTER THE CREDITS YALL, THAT SCENE GAVE ME CHILLS
