I LOVE Skyrim. My mother loves Skyrim. My sister, husband (he argues Morrowind is better), and pretty much everyone else I know loves Skyrim. So when VoicePlay drops a video dedicated to one of the greatest fantasy games of all time, I have to tune in!

Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to VoicePlay performing "The Dragonborn Comes”.

  • Doesn't get any better than Elizabeth in cosplay for the reaction and vocal fangirling at the same time.
  • I swear Elizabeth is like a kid in a candy store when she reacts to Voiceplay.
  • @korenogamer6075
Malukah did an amazing job as well. She was also one of the first to do this cover. Her covers of many Skyrim songs is what led the developers of Elder Scrolls Online to hire her as a bard in the game. Go into some of the Inns and you will hear Malukah. She also worked with Peter Hollins in Baba Yetu the Civilization IV theme. She now has a great career singing in in video games

I'm so jazzed that you're reviewing this one! I've been a hardcore Skyrim nerd for years and was ecstatic when VoicePlay released this. It's so good 😁 Fus Ro Dah!
  • @Jalbert1989
"Jeez, that's so stupid low!" Yeah, that's the appropriate reaction to Geoff's notes from the depths.
  • @johnspencer9537
I love the passion that Elizabeth has. The great expressions on her face when she loves a sound. Keep up the great work!!!
  • @amarab8544
The way Geoff slides up and down the pentatonic scale with ease is otherworldly
  • I love how on point their articulation is when speaking in the Dragon tongue. They had to have done so much research on how to articulate those words, and then make them sound so beautiful! Truly a work of art. Just remember, Dragonborn or not, The Reach will be taken by the Forsworn
  • @natebaker3672
So excited for this one. It's been too long since you did a VP reaction.
  • @Badger77722
I love Elizabeth's use of technical terms in this one: "Geez! That's so STUPID low!"
  • It felt like I was actually in Skyrim. Candlehearth Hall in Windhelm, or Winking Skeever in Solitude. The touring Bard's College Troupe. There was even a Fus Roh Dah that would blow a bandit off the bridge of Valtheim Tower.
  • OMG! JUST LOOK AT YOU!! You look amazing!! So into the the whole scenario. This is such an incredible vocal performance and your reaction to and analysis of the vocal components is as spellbinding as the performance. I don’t think anyone else could do justice to this performance as you have done here. Your facial expressions are simply wonderful! Cheers 🤠🤗🙏🌹
  • Just fell into the Voiceplay rabbit hole about three weeks ago and absolutely love both your Voiceplay reactions and your interviews with Geoff and Layne. Your obviously genuine and joyful reaction to their work while being able to so wonderfully analyze and explain the finer points of what they are really doing musically is absolutely spectacular. I just had to click on to this as soon as I saw it, just love the fact that you 'dressed up' for it! (And realized I hadn't yet subscribed to you-that's been taken care of!)
  • @lml1501
Don't forget that the engineers involved in this recording did one hell of a job with the production. The voices have been captured to perfection. . .
  • @msclrhd
I like that VoicePlay decided to cover Malukah's arrangement of this song. The ahhs and the Dovahkin part at the end are from her arrangement.
  • I've been eagerly awaiting your review of VoicePlay's "The Dragonborn Comes", and it was a delightful combination of technical insight and pure joy! Having only discovered VoicePlay a few months ago (just after discovering Geoff's solo pieces), I quickly found all kinds of channels that review their pieces - yours, Peter Barber's, Maggie Renee, Mortius among them (the voice technical side) - and pure fan reviews that range anywhere from useful commentary/background to mainly facial expressions of amazement. Thanks so much for your expert analyses,
  • Man when I first saw this cover I knew you had to see it, I'm so exited to watch this, I can hardly wait till it brings You as much joy as I felt.
  • @AudioVile
I've been amazed by your reactions for over a year now. Going back to this, I had forgotten how amazing this piece is. I remember hearing the arpeggios Geoff effortlessly navigates. I'm glad you called that out. It ' my favorite part of the arrangement. And Layne??? Fire. I find myself re-listening to earlier VoicePlay stuff and appreciating it more and more. As always, GREAT reaction!! One thing you should keep in mind... be wary of the "you are having WAY too much fun police." You would be SO busted!! 😆
