Better Ideas is the closest thing to a father I've ever had

How to make progress in life: 1 - Develop a vision (imagine/visualize where you want to be); 2 - Weaponize your attention (focus on what you want and like to do); 3 - Surrender/submission (don't fight to do what you have to do, just relax and try it step by step).

"Develop a vision that's more exciting to you than the pleasures that surround you". For someone with ADHD, this is near life changing. Thank you.

Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future.., I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life!!

Your emphasis on the importance of having a vision resonated with me deeply. It's a gentle reminder that without a compass, it's easy to get lost. And yes, attention is truly our most precious currency in this age of distraction. Your point about surrender, allowing ourselves to truly feel and not be burdened by external circumstances, is a perspective that I hadn't considered deeply before. It was refreshing. šŸŗ

I actually managed to get out of the rud lately in my late 20s after nearly 10 years of procrastination. Turns out I just needed accomplishments to kickstart my mood, motivation and hope, to fuel my self confidence and my will to move forward. I accomplished more in the last year than in the 10 years before that. Surround yourself with good people, put yourself in a good mood and keep going. I'm just at the beginning of my journey but its great to feel that amount of power running through my body.

"Develop a vision more exciting to you than the pleasures that surround you." Well said!

Your part about creating a vision was so good that I had to do it before even continuing the video. Specifically for me, a short-term vision. I often get lost chasing my long-term goals. I'm a very ambitious person, I pretty much know what I want in life, and I know I'm more than capable of achieving it. The only thing holding me back it trying to chase the end goal too soon. It becomes overwhelming and ultimately stops me from making any progress at all because the thought of starting, knowing that I've got so much to do, is a daunting prospect.
  • "Where your eyes gaze, your feet tend to follow." Yes. Amen! Focus that attention on where you want to go. ā¤

I never comment on YouTube videos, but I had to for this one. I've been watching your content for years and seeing how much your channel has grown in that time is so great to see. The quality of your content is so captivating, engages me right to the very end (which is rare!) and avoids all the waffle that so many videos have. There's no BS, you get straight to the point but you still manage to film cinematic, well scripted (and often comedic) videos that also feels very much like you + your personal work, not copying what everyone else is doing. You make self-improvement sound less daunting and much more like a journey to get excited about, not one that exhausts me before I even start. Your ideas are simple but effective, and watching your videos makes me feel like I can achieve my goals without feeling like I have to join the toxic productivity cult to do so. Create your vision, focus your attention on that vision, and learn to surrender to the task at hand. May your channel continue to shine, Joey! Keep doing what you're doing. You're helping a lot of people :)

The snippet that you edited in, explaining what submission is, is an absolute gold nugget. I struggle to do what I know I need to do on a daily basis at my job. I have this intense physical reaction of clenching my feet and my stomach tightens. I feel like I want to do anything but what I have to do. It's really reassuring to hear that other people also feel a resistance and having faith in the process will actually help. Thank you sincerely for this video, and particularly that part. It really spoke to me.

Woke up today feeling lost, couldnā€™t get out of bed. Perfect timing, thank you šŸ‘‘
  • I recently created a new channel (this one) on my YouTube account in order to get a different feed of videos - reserved only to productivity content. Itā€™s hard not to feel motivated when I open it and pick something to watch. Works especially well when I have a dip in motivation and reading my productivity journal isnā€™t enough. Hearing a positive message from someone else gets the gears turning a lot better for me. I also applied this to instantly see content in languages that Iā€™m learning so that thereā€™s nothing in my way - except for switching channels. The path of least resistance is my favorite path. And I still have my other channel where I watch all the entertaining stuff when I want to relax. But it doesnā€™t distract me when I donā€™t want it. I donā€™t know if anyone will see this comment but maybe someone else would like to try it šŸ˜†

Was actually thinking about your channel today Joey. I'm 28 & lost, feel like a complete loser with no sense of direction & I feel behind in life. But deep down I know I can do better. I just don't know what the 1st step is. I just hope it's not too late to turn my life around & make something out of myself. Thanks for the video man, cheers šŸ™‚

i am 22 now and running late in life than my friends and other people of my age in general, this is taking a toll on my confidence. It's not that i am not doing things to change my life for good but i feel like i am not doing enough, i struggle to study for few hours and i feel entitled to my goals just because i have written them. I feel really left behind today and everyone is going ahead of me. I have left social media long time ago but it doesn't mean that now i will surely reach my goals. I was having good routine for a week from which i got side-tracked today, i hope i get back on right track today quickly. This video again re-emphasized the idea of having a vision in life. I am gonna do that hopefullly. And there's a girl that wants to meet me ( i also wants too ) but i am not really confident in my life in general coz of those things i wrote above and i strongly believe that this is not the right time for me to meet girls or make gf and i should just disappear for a year to change my life for good and to build a strong identity that resonates with me and makes me feel like YEAH, THIS IS THE REAL ME
  • The way you're able to express yourself in the ending where you're talking about what submission is is really admirable. Even with no cuts and fancy edits, your speaking and presentation is really concise and the information is valuable. Great video :)

I feel so lucky to have found your channel.. thank you for what you do

It feels just so good when you manage to get things done. Specially things which bring yourself forward.

Here are bullet-points: Crafting an Inspiring Vision - Develop a specific, detailed vision for your ideal future life 1 year from now - Focus on how you want to feel and who you want to become more than material success - Ensure your vision is emotionally compelling and exciting to you - Write down the specifics to clarify your vision and keep you motivated Harnessing the Power of Your Attention - Direct your attention purposefully towards your vision to turn goals into reality - Be aware of where your focus goes and guard against distractions - Treat your attention as precious by being selective about where it goes - Align your thoughts and energy with your core vision for maximum traction Surrendering to the Process - Access desired emotional states like calm and empowerment in the present moment - Take action with faith before you feel ready and disregard limiting beliefs - Allow yourself to relax into inspired action instead of forcing it - Progress comes from surrendering to the journey rather than controlling the process
