I used to have a severe milk allergy when I was younger. Luckily I have long since out grown it and enjoy milk and milk products without any adverse effects :D

It's important to note that much of the vitamins and minerals added to plant-based milk alternatives are not as bioavailable as the vitamins and minerals present in dairy milk and aren't absorbed very well by the body. In order to maximise your consumption of vitamins and minerals from plant-based alternatives it is also really important to shake the carton before pouring it every time as the added nutrients sink to the bottom meaning if you don't shake, you're getting very little nutrition at all.
