Since I am relatively new to Roblox I wasn't sure which games were worth recording and archiving for future generations to see. I knew Doors was popular, but I asked the community for tips on games that were high quality. The Mimic was mentioned by multiple viewers and I have finally recorded the first game with all its four chapters. My expectations were definitely surpassed!
The game tells the story of a Japanese spirit that enters your life and you will go on an epic journey in order to stop her. The Mimic starts out simple with having various maze sections where you need to avoid an enemy, but later on the gameplay gets more complex and you are tasked with completing different objectives while enemies are patrolling. Though we have seen gameplay like this before, the quality of The Mimic is very high and even higher than some games you pay money for.
The scares are magnificent and I had multiple times where I jumped out of my seat. The Japanese setting is beautiful and I think you can really see how the developer is evolving their skills in game making with each chapter. By the final chapter it did not even feel like the same game as chapter 1 anymore! The puzzles were also cool and gave a quick break from all the heart pounding action. My only complaint is the final boss, which was not very fun to beat. The hitbox is very inaccurate and the battle lasts way too long. I assume this is done so that the boss would be fairer when playing with friends, but fighting the boss solo is quite a drag. The developer has revamped the chapters in the past, so maybe in the future we will see a redesign of this fight. I also know that Book 2 will get a new chapter very soon, so expect more The Mimic to arrive shortly! Thanks again for recommending this gem of a horror game!

I love this walkthrough because it’s like an actual person is going through this. For the Statues part in Chapter 1, he looked at every statue and just walked. Like a person being scared to wonder deeper with statues surrounding them. And when the statues moved, it’s like the person was genuinely scared and started running.

Just like many other people that have already said this, I love how skilled this person is, they were able to make me feel like I genuinely was there
  • I like how the reactions are so genuine, it makes it more enjoyable when someone isn't yelling all the time as well Keep up the good work my dude!

The way he played is so pleasant, as if it were something in reality, he is very talented and I admire that.
  • I love how in vids like these, the person who’s filming doesn’t even get scared to a jumpscare😂

I was writing a horror story for my high school homework, than got the idea to try and base it off mimic, this walkthrough really helped bec of of how the reactions seem so realistic to how a real person would react. Overall the walkthrough was amazing, and actually made it much more scary.
