THE perfect tutorial I was looking for, I put on 1.75 speed and captions to condense the content. Removing overgrown cuticle and pushing or clipping the eponychium (nobody recommends the latter) can go awry easy so be super gentle anyone who is reading. I never understood putting oil on a surface that's about to be bonded with polish, but your evaporator seems to have fixed that. Happy Nailing!

Great tutorial. As a nail tech two suggestions. First don't use cuticle oil to push back your cuticles, use cuticle remover and buff your nails after. Second: Seal the free edge first and then polish your nails. That's what we do in the salon and what I do at home. Your just doing it backwards. If you do the free edge first, you won't have such a big bulky edge. Use cuticle oil at the very end of the manicure. Great job. I am extremely Impressed by your tutorial and how well you polish your nails. You so a great job. Also. Many people pay to have long nails like your natural nails. You have great nails.

A couple of tips I've learned: start painting with the pinky so you don't risk messing up the rest your nails as you move on to the next one. And cap your nail edge first and then paint the nail to remove any "hump" that might appear from capping. It just evens it out. 😊

Watching this so I can try to do my Wife’s nails here aren’t lasting more than 4-5 days. I’ve painted cabinets, walls, trim, boats and floors but ..never nails, thanks for the great info.
  • THIS IS THE HACK, GUYS!!! I watched this video almost two weeks ago. I never had at-home gel that lasted more than 5 days. This lasted 12 days before one of them chipped. My nails are thin so this has always been a struggle. Thank you for this video!!!!

It's $40 for a gel manicure in my town and I can't justify spending that, so I'm going to try doing it myself. Very good tutorial!
  • @GS__
Kudos to everyone who can stand looking at the same polish/manicure for more than 2 days. 💅🏾💅🏾 Not me.

I've ambitiously purchased a starter kit and failed my first attempt 2 weeks ago, I've been bummed out about my wasted money. After watching this I realize where I went wrong😅😂 will be giving a second try today❤

Never use cuticle oil until the very end of the manicure. The most important part of doing a gel manicure that will last is that the nails need to be prepped properly as well as dry as possible. I’ve been a nail tech for 20 years and the best product to use to push your cuticles and remove all the pterygium (skin that sticks on your nail bed) is alcohol.....it allows softening of the cuticles so they can be pushed back and, it loosens the pterygium for removal and it aids in dehydrating the nail bed for better adhesion I know the oil was wiped off but to not use it at all would ensure the longevity of the gel manicure I hope these tips help ☺️ oh! Also, capping the free edge of the nail with the polish will seal the nail to help avoid any chipping ......good luck!
  • @AntyPam4250
I knew to ‘seal’ the edge of the nail, but your method is much smarter. It’s where I have the most trouble with my manicure as well, so I think this will really make the difference. Thanks! P. S. Your wedding rings are stunning! ❤️
  • @cryssbou7864
a good thing to do is apply your cuticle oil before you apply the acetone soaked cotton ball . it keeps your cuticles from getting dehydrated too bad and it will wash off when you wash your hands giving you a clean surface to polish. apply again after done

I've been doing mine after buying 70 bottles gel polish to so my nails. Saved so much money. They're better than the salon and my nails aren't weak. My favorite brands for gel polish are IBD, Kiara Sky and OPI😊
  • @lovelydiva06
It’s very relaxing and satisfying watching people neatly pant their nails, I love dark nails on other people, just not myself
  • @artbykeight
Thank you so much for this video! My first at home gel manicure stayed on for 3 weeks 😊
  • Great tutorial, thank you so much! I don’t do gel nails, just regular polish, and I found the tips about sealing the end caps so useful!
  • @auntdello5286
Thank you for this tutorial. Your nails look lovely. I have one bit of advice for all you young ladies who use these lamps. Apply some sunscreen to your fingers and hands before starting. Years of sun/UV exposure will age your skin. No need to speed up age spots when you are young.
