Thanks for having me! Happy to answer follow up questions if anyone has any in the comments. (Although I can't help you if your channel is about drinking coffee)
  • Amazing video worth of a sub!! Even though I don't consider myself a beginner anymore, I still remember getting started. It was a tough journey. Of course, things are a lot easier now and I'm super grateful that I didn't give up and stayed patient all the way through. Consistency and hard work (I have also used a little bit of Famester to take off my channel, and I don't regret it) is the key for small channels and, in my experience always pay off.

Upload shorts and hope they go viral. I went from 0 subs to 37k subs in two years and growing fast. 🎉
  • Spiffing Brit's got pointers, but the YouTube game's got layers. It's a mix of quality content, smart moves, staying true to your vibe, and really vibing with your audience.

I love that this video unifies different ideas for whichever content creation paths you could take. There’s not one perfect path, but the one that is perfect for you.
  • @ScrubbyGames
Considering Spiff is my literal all time favorite content creator, and i am an aspiring content creator, I absolutely love that this video exists. Thank all of you so very much for taking the time to do this!!!!

My biggest things I have done was change my thumbnail style. Using more eye catching colors. Another thing is my style of story telling even tho I am just playing a video game. Making every game session an experience or story has gave my subscribers something to look forward to. Even though they have played the same game, hearing it as a story in someone else’s POV makes a world of a difference!!! Thanks VidIQ for providing some key things that pivoted my channel!

Yay for Spiffing Brit making an appearance here, SUCH a fun channel and educational but you don't even know you're getting smarter while you watch him!

Man this was a great video. Love all the VidIQ content. I've had my small channel for a year, and struggle finishing content as I have a lot of research to do and want to do high quality. I experimented with lower quality videos to get more content and that didn't work. I'm really wanting to get to the next step and make a steady income even if it doesn't pay me as a full time job. I really love making the content.

I'm growing simply because I focus on what other creators don't focus on. When I started off with YouTube officially 3 months ago, I knew Minecraft content was incredibly competitive, and a year ago I wouldn't have even considered it. But I have a ton of ideas that, apparently, have not been done before, and 75% of those ideas have not even come to pass yet. I first jumped on trending topics and created my own editing style that outdid other creators in this niche. Not talking about cool edit montages, just a well-led story. After gaining views and more subscribers from that, I switched to ideas that were unique but still relevant to the niche. As such, I now have 10k subscribers and average 100k views per video. And I'm yet to enter the phase (which is planned out) where I'll get millions of views. If you put your mind to it and have full dedication to grow, then you'll succeed, but sadly 90% of youtubers will quit half-way. I've had my lows as well, but I never quit, I change the plan.

It was at the point where thespiffingbrit say 'I use VidIQ controll tools' that I realised this was a stealth ad.

TLDR; Everyone's trying to be the BIG FISH in a vast sea of creators in a specific competitive niche, instead; Become a BIG FISH in a small pond(specific untouched niche), and if the time that the pond is too small for you you have the choice to scale up and go to a bigger body of water(competitive space)
  • @Destrooy_YT
I hope for your small channel to grow❤🎉

I do baking tutorials and i have a homestead (not on my channel though) and i speculated in one video about swapping out the chicken egg for duck egg. I got comments from viewers saying it sounded cool and they had never done it either. So i check around and the only videos i could find about involved hatching duck egg or cooking just duck egg. Even though duck egg is rather common in baked goods. So i made a video for a pancake recipe and i did a double. I made one batch with chicken egg and the other with duck, side by side comparisons and my thoughts and opinions. Its one of my most popular videos And I'm the only video i could find doing it

Honestly by far the best advice given in ages. I agree with a lot of what he said because lately I've been testing out some things he mentioned on my own and I could see the vids I tested on were getting better than my old vids and my struggling vids. It's still a learning curve and a lot of trial and error but it's working and easier than all the stuff we're used to being told
  • Great advice! I am excited to see everyone's journey as they grow and continue to create content.

Golden interview, love all the question you asked 💯Suggestion : you should do an interview with a travel channel, we see a lot gaming channel (nothing against that), but it would be nice to a perspective of a travel channel. Thanks!
