Lemme know what YOU think of Altered below! πŸ‘‡:_RZRTHINK:

Thanks for the video. I've personally fallen in love with the game and really enjoy playing it! I can't wait to get my first boosters and go play in stores. And thanks for the reveal ;D

I do like the idea of having the ability to print a copy of my cards to let a friend play without them having to purchase physical copies as well. I think it’s a great way to get new players into a game they are not entirely certain of investing in. I’m not a huge fan of the QR code on the cards but it serves a purpose so it doesn’t totally sway my judgment. I’m interested in Altered and probably will try to get some cards. I am intrigued by the game mechanics, I think racing an opponent rather than battling could be fun.

Hell yeah. One of the few TCG's i'm interested in actually playing & collecting besides MTG (including a couple others like Grand Archive) The design of the game seems super complex when you first look at it, since almost every single details is wildly different from most other TCGs, but once you actually understand the reason why each detail is the way it is, it's such an elegant & well-designed system. None of the changes are made just for the sake of it. Instead, each change, besides the core idea of Uniques, is made to complement & fix the problems of each other change in a beautiful song of synergy.

I'm hoping this will be a regular evening activity for my wife and i, the last game i got her into was Keyforge. We still break out our favourite decks from time to time.
  • @DevynPlaysGames
15 rares, 3 uniques in a 39 card deck. The cool thing with the rarities is that (once the game comes out) you can take a "meta" deck, and build it in a fully common form
  • @RyukADA
I'm very excited for altered! Pre-ordered a good amount of products to open and play with friends!

Wow, another TCG. I'd give it a try, but I just don't have time for another game. I need to win the lottery so I can quit my job and play TCGs fulltime. It's refreshing to see a game try to improvise instead of creating another magic clone. I hope they succeed. For the collecting, my thoughts are: 1. This looks good for the players. Should hopefully make the game more accessible to new players without a huge cash investment up front. 2. I'm not sure if the collectors will be into this. They tend to prefer physical things. Since you're owning the digital card, the printed cards will have little value. It will be interesting to see if collectors buy into the game. If they don't, can the game survive without the collectors purchasing product? 3. If they are printing cards when you want them, how does that effect them cost wise? I'm sure people much smarter than me factored that into their business model. It's refreshing to see someone take some risks and try to do things differently. Best of luck to them.
  • My wife and I played quite a few rounds with the PnP version, got very excited and backed the KS. I really like the concept, obviously hard to say how it will do commercially, but it’s certainly one that will see our table quite regularly!

I actually won two starter decks in one of their giveaways on IG, and I have really enjoyed the game. I love the art. I love the idea that the rare versions of the cards have different effects. For me, the QR code is just fine. Chaotic TCG similarly does the same thing with the codes, and those didn't bother me at all. Overall, it's a nice game!

Like you, ive played dozens, if not hundreds of TCG's, by far my favorite form of gaming, but every time I try to watch a L2P Video (Including MainDeck) the game just confuses me. Almost like its trying to be overly complex for complexity sake. Ive scheduled a Demo at Gen Con hoping a hands-on will be a better learning experience. My LGS is also pushing this game hard, which frustrates me, because ive been wanting to get into Grand Archive and the closest store that supports the game is 127mi, big sad.
  • @PiperRECs
Thank you for covering this great game! i backed the KS and I'm super excited to possibly pull a Golden Booster!
  • @BlindedGuardian
this is to me the best modern TCG in terms of mecanics and flavor. i'll keep buying my Lorcana Display for collection and fast and easy games, i'll keep playing to magic through Commanders format. But this will become my main TCG, i find it better than Star wars (and prettier) and better than flesh and blood (less complexity in the cards mecanics, yet a lot to think about with these biomes and reserve.).
  • I ended up backing the Kickstarter, and I do think the game is fun. Plus the art is delightful. The QR code is honestly fine, after a few games you don’t even notice it. However I have reservations about whether or not the game will last. They lean into the digital aspect in a way I’m not sure I’m comfortable with just yet. And while the game definitely feels fun, my buddy put it best when he said β€˜it looks like a great mobile game.’ And I don’t know how this game will interact with the secondary market since it’s mainly through their own platform.
  • @DevynPlaysGames
Never been much of a tcg player (although I do enjoy some tcg content now and then). That said, I am highly interested in altered and backed the kickstartef
  • @cto2702
I tested the game a lot on the unofficial software ExAltered, and fell in love with the gameplay. It’s deep, fun and feels fresh new. The rarity system is what makes the deckbuilding fun, and I believe very accessible price wise. Very promising
  • @lisaparker271
idk about this tcg, my lgs is like really hyped into this and i feel metazoo all over it.
  • @FabricioKarim
Print decks to test the game was the way I started to buy Grand Archive. And i bought a lot, boxes, decks, sleeves...
