Interesting challenge to get to 500 with Rhythmic biker, I've shared both on my FB page, good luck buddy 👍

Just been sent here by Westonsupermotovlog. Great fun video. In September on my way home from Scotland I overtook a guy going up the A6 to Shap... on a fully loaded Sinnis Terrain 125. Respect to that man. Turns out he had been touring Scotland the same week at me, only I had a 525cc advantage.... I bet he had just as much fun though.

Every vehicle I've driven and been in a position to check has done this. Usually around 10% optimism. It's perfectly normal, although this does seem on the high side. The truck I drove indicated a top speed of 62mph. Which is clever in a vehicle mechanically limited to 58mph.. it was really doing 58.

I just watched Rhythmic Biker’s video about your race to 500 subs. Good luck.
-
That quite an extreme difference. I’ve found most vehicles here in Australia are about 10% out. Good video.
-
You've pulled a genuine 61mph on a 125 the size of hotel. Not bad!
-
Ayup! Great video, totally agree, having a 125 it's hard work to build up your speed and it's a sense of achievement to reach 70, but we've been conned! New euro 5 are limited too, which makes it even worse! 🤦 Stay safe mate 😊🖖🏽

Your speedo is absolutely correct according to UK law :- The UK law is based on the EU standard, with some minor changes. A speedo must never show less than the actual speed, and must never show more than 110% of actual speed + 6.25mph. Remember as well your sat nav is calculating speed of actual distance travelled over a set time whereas the bike speedo is reading wheel rotation or the rear wheel hub which will change depending on tyre pressure, tyre wear and type thus the calculation and setting to under read, its a legal requirement not a con to think your bike is faster. Think about it a few millimeter tyre wear over a number of rotations changes the calculation quite dramatically thus the algorithm available to calculate speedo change with tyre wear or size change. SIMPLES !

Most vehicles do this, i had a TC Max with a claimed top speed of 60mph, but i was actually doing 49mph according to my GPS phone, i can understand maybe a 5% difference, but not 20%
-
My 2022 Terrain reads about 10% over too. Still, i think most speedos (including cars) are similarly optimistic. Who cares, if it saves speeding tickets? Plus, at top speed my bike is quite terrifying enough🤣
-
What about the m.g.b a.t.x 125 that’s out there?
-
Yeap all bikes are over optimistic with their speedos. I really noticed that with the Terrain too.
-
is the speedo drive in the front wheel or gearbox ?

Fair play for giving it a 2nd go, I feel the pain of building speed on a 125, I have triumph sprint st 1050cc but my partner has a Lexmoto LSX 125 which I occasionally ride to work, it’s a nice little bike but I feel bad when I’m trying to build speed, feel like I’m butchering the engine 😂 It’s crazy how much difference there is, saying 70mph but actually doing 60mph, mental stuff, however it’s always fun going as fast as possible on a 125 🤘 I would do the GPS thing on my bike but that could very quickly turn to me losing my license😂

Hi I normally don't get a response when I ask questions on the YouTube but I am seriously considering getting one of these bikes but I am a little concerned with the fact that I am currently about 18st and only 5ft 7inch with a 30 inch inside leg
-
2004 honda cbr125r indicated top speed 90mph, gps 82mph
-
At least you're not going to caught out speeding if you stick to the indicated limits and using the bike speedo 😉
-
top speed is all about power and vehicle weight, if u drive a 125 on a L plate, the only thing u have to do is get a bike with 15 horsepower which is the limit for this category ... that's the only way u can go further than 60 mph on REAL gps speed
-
Sometimes my speedo says I'm going at 60mph but I'm only going 40mph 😉
