Typical... the only Tau decent at melee is their most revered leader XD

Commander Farsight may well be the only true hero in this grimdark galaxy we all know and love. Cares about the people under his command, willingly accepts Xenos into his ranks, fights against the oppression and indoctrination of the Ethereals, and he has a big-ass sword and a mech suit, so he gets cool points for that alone.
  • The first Tau who bothered to learn how to fight in melee. True, he still can't do it without a mech, but it's a start.

...what if Commander Farsight painted his battlesuit red because he knew that Orks belief that Red=faster would give him a speed boost when fighting Orks?

Tau should consider themselves lucky. The Imperium's version of Farsight made daemons happen.

2:55 He Fought on favourable terrain Picture of Tau charging Orks in melee with their rifles
  • 9:00 "wielding a blade of unknown origin"...considering that this is 40K, chances are that there is a daemon inside.

Is this the more successful brother of Captain hindsight?
  • Shas'O Vior'la Shovah Kais Mont'yr has never, ever abandoned the Greater Good! It is the Ethereals who subvert it through their sinister actions.

Their are no casual warhammer fans. It consumes your whole life

Did they change the lore on Farsight or something? I seem to remember a few editions ago they pretty much explained that prat of the reason the Ethereals started to dislike Farsight was his tactics against the Orks - he boxed them in and engaged in close quarters to slaughter them and also didn't give up ground as was the Tau way of battle. I think the Farsight Enclaves came about because Farsight believed the Etherals weren't supporting them enough and then they tried to remove him from command to which he refused and thus the Enclaves were independent. Again, this is all a few editions back in the Tau codex, I'd need to go find it and re-read. The Etherals also weren't so completely obviously evil in that codex. I'm guessing it's changed because I don't recall the Dawn Blade being a plot-point yet, I suppose because at that time in the timeline it was still normal for him not to have died of old age. The Dawn Blade was shocking because he was using a melee weapon, not because it kept him alive. I also do not at all recall the whole 'living as a hermit' thing.

Gotta love 40k. It's a verse where the most basic of tactics are huge masterstrokes... but you can't help but love it anyway.
