At Paris Olympics opening ceremony, drag parody of 'the last supper' draws flak. A massive controversy over the drag queen-themed apparent parody of "The last supper". A group of around 18 performers struck poses behind a long table, with the seine river in act. Participants stormed the stage for an impromptu fashion show & swayed along the sidelines

  • The opening ceremony was blatantly offensive and perverse. The blasphemy of Jesus and mockery of the last supper is unacceptable. By the committees standards of excellence to not promote politics or ideologies biased on one preference or another they have broken their own rules. Their apology is lame and insincere. As a christian i am taking a firm stand against such behavior. #boycotttheolympics

To create your brand, you don’t have insult already existing religion… for you to be respected in the society, you don’t need to disrespect others!!! How is this even inclusion?!!
  • @sooui21
me as a christian they did not respect jesus they are rude
  • Why is perversion so wide spread in western society? What happened to merit, why aren't exceptional people being praized anymore, specially in a SPORTS EVENT?! What is going on, that we stopped wanting to become the best possible. This explanation, of trying to unify and create community is tragic because you are not doing good by accepting everything. Children must be protected, core values need to be protected. Like acceptance, you can accept a drag but you should never PROMOTE it, since being drag isn't a thing to get merit for.

On Rule 50.2 of the Olympic Charter X. Rule 50.2 of the Olympic Charter restricts the freedom of expression of athletes at the Olympic Games and at all other competitions held according to IOC provisions. It states: "No kind of demonstration or political, religious or racial propaganda is permitted in any Olympic sites, venues or other areas."

I am a Muslim and I say that if Christian people do not defend Jesus Christ, then we are Muslims. We will defend Christ. Christ is mentioned in the Qur’an, and for us he is a prophet. We do not allow any religion to mock the prophets and messengers whom God sent as a mercy to people to guide them from error to light.
  • Don't do something which can hurt the religion sentiments be it christian, hindu, Islam, Buddhist.
  • Can i find an actual video of the actual performance!?! Id love to see it myself and not just see what everybody thinks about it. I wanna fckn see it.

This is an international platform.... don’t be ridiculous and make a mockery of Christianity. Just boycott France .

As a Christian, I dont care. It doesn't change the power of God.
  • @TheMuffin0801
They have no balls to try the same with any other major religion...

Just accept your mistakes!!!you don't even wanna say sorry and pay for it but dare to make excuses and call others "guilty "?? Im not Christian myself but what i saw at this terrible and disturbing opening ceremony which was supposed to picture nations and love of sports....it completely changed into gen*ocide supporting and disrespecting scenes that no one could imagine. It was a public ceremony which millions of people including children were watching it . The performance wasn't appropriate for this event. As it seemed insulting moments was clear enough to understand and nothing is needed to explain (unfortunately)!

The opening ceremony of the Olympics in France is an insult to the Olympics, athletes and people around the world!! SHAME ON YOU FRANCE
  • @susansimon7428
If they wanted to demonstrate "inclusivity", they should have been aware that the whole world does not think or behave like France. It's so arrogant of them to assume other cultures would be accepting of deviant behavior and mockery of their religion.
  • @serena9543
Yea the other side is not divisive at all?? This is very unifying? The Olympics did a horrible job for that. A complete fail. If a catholic thought this was overblown then that person was not Catholic. That you Olympics for more division and hate it's just what we needed
  • @JannesEvelyn
excessive freedom, even to the point of insulting one's own religious beliefs. This is embarrassing
