I got the new remote and love, love, love it. I have the 4K Apple TV so didn’t feel the need to update the whole system. I hated the old remote. I love having a mute button and an on off button. I love that it’s bigger and heavier, aluminum instead of glass. So much easier to scrub back and forth. 100% better remote. Thank you Apple. 💜😍

Hi Do you know if the CEC dropout problem has been fixed? Looking on Macrumors, on the older model many find that it just turns off every so often and then you have to go through a procedure of resetting all the CEC options or disconnecting the AppleTv waiting 30sec then powering up again. Such an annoyance!

Got mine… Got problems, been on the phone with Apple Tech. so far not super impressed. Coming from the 1st gen. 4K Apple TV and speed wise it outperforms the new one. I’ve got really really slow access times for iTunes movies, just keep getting the spinners for up to a full minute. All the other apps work fine, my 1st gen 4K just dives right in to iTunes movies, less than 10 sec access times. Hoping for a software fix

I ordered the remote for my 2017 Apple TV 4K. Don’t think it was worth replacing the box tho as there’s very little worth upgrading.

hooking it up tomm...hate the old remote, pauses my tv if you look at it hard...seriously if you accidentally touch it, brush against it , your programming is paused...happened on a daily basis, look forward to the new one

Good video Aaron, but to get the 4K at 60fps you need to buy the Ultra HD High Speed 4K HDMI cable. I got the Belkin (2m) from the Apple Store. It is not included with the Apple TV 4K.

I have the 64Gb. I'm just waiting to receive my HDMI 2.1 cable before setting it up. Once I have it set up I plan to use the remote on my iPhone 13 Pro Max.
