“There’s no perfect place, just perfect place for the individual at a certain time.” Loved that quote! For me is the QUALITY OF LIFE every time.

This is 100% facts!!! Most Americans will NEVER understand this video. I don’t know you from Adam and I feel the same way! There are a few more issues that you didn’t even mention that would blow the average American’s mind.

I moved to Mexico from Atlanta as a Black women and I say the exact same thing about Mexico! I reminds me of USA in 80s. the good old days when the US was family oriented, not stuck on too much technology, people were more close. I love Mexico. Cheers to your move!

As a Dominican myself I’m working my butt off to go back to my country. When I came 7 years ago, I was always surrounded by family and friends and out of nowhere I was here by my own. In this country I witnessed so many things I thought I would only see in movies, so much tension everywhere I go that would not let me live in peace, but when I visit my beautiful patio 🇩🇴it’s like a dream that I wished I’ll never wake up…

I left NYC at 25 years old and showed up in the DR in 2005 What would be a 90 day experiment to strengthen my Spanish learning became a 3 yr stay and my own biz teaching ESL and then Spanish to expats. Of course, I was one only few Black Americans at the time. Good to see its catching on! Suerte manito

In the Dominican Republic no matter how black you are If you got money you are the boss, the king, we don't care about skin color

Jay, you hit the nail on the head with the reasons you stated. I feel the same way. It just doesn't make sense anymore. I was born in D.R. but was raised in NYC. I never imagined in a million years that I would consider living in the D.R. and now I am considering any and all options because USA ain't it. I'm tired of the grind and the division. My parents came to the US in the 70s for a better life and I guess for awhile, it was better but I feel like we are going backwards now. Thanks for the video.

I’m right behind you! Hopefully by the end of 2024 I can relocate! 💯💪🏾 Great video!
  • Bro you hit the nail on the head. One thing you forgot was the healthcare. Some many people have the slightest idea what life is outside America. I definitely appreciate the video.

I have been living here in DR Since sept 2022 I lived in Nyc 21 years and 3 years in tennesse and I was done with US im so happy here back at my land and planning to get a piece a land in the mountains to just really chill. Great video much love, prosperity and life for you and your family.
  • @TerriCarroll
Totally agree. I have been living abroad for 3 1/2 years for these same reasons. And even the main reason that the U.S. is a great place to make money has become a moot point, because the cost of living takes everything you are busting your behind to make. Peace is priceless. I love the decison I made to move abroad.
  • @jonathanjmentor
You legit hit all of the reasons I’m moving. That’s wild. 🎉🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
  • I'm 26 (about to be 27) single, no kids. I went to Bangkok, Thailand solo, for my first international trip. The way of life is so much better outside of America. it's like you have peace of mind. Once I have everything set up here. I'm definitely moving out the country.

I’m Colombian, living in the US since 6 years ago. One of the main reasons why I plan to raise my kids outside of the US is the racism. I want their foundational years to be healthy emotionally and socially.
  • 2:01 - 2:06 Bingo! Like you said... the America we grew up with in the 80's no longer exist. The 1980's was the one of the best decades of America.
  • @jttalbertiii
Really enjoyed your video, Jay and so happy to see us black Americans moving out of the US! My reasons in the future to relocating to South Africa is ALL of the reasons you mentioned. I'm so happy for you my brotha!
  • @vicvic2081
The hatred of the USA is unmatched. Like you said Dr can be racist in certain places but never at the level of the USA. Dominicans can't fathom that level of hatred at all.
