Five months in the making, and I'm incredibly proud of the final result. This project, a rendition of Megadeth's 'Holy Wars' in the style of Metallica's 'And Justice For All', is perhaps the best-mixed and mastered work I've ever created to date. During the process, I explored new techniques, departing from heavy EQ matching that I'd used in previous 'What If' projects. The outcome is a track, I feel, that's fresh and unique in its own way.

Throughout the song, I've hidden various 'AJFA' Easter eggs for you to discover, and maybe a little classical lick too. see if you can spot them all!

Huge thanks to:

Sounds straight out of an alternate timeline where Dave never got kicked out
  • @AlexH8280
Time traveler: moves chair The timeline:
  • Jesus fucking Christ, I didn't expect this to be so bloody spot on. The harsh voice of Hetfield back then, those early Metallica riffs, the clumsy drumming of Lars... Omg
  • @RadicalTrivia
The detail on Lars hitting the crashes with his patented "one-beat-later" method is incredible.
  • @seb76834
The fact that this is consistently sounding like Metallica AND Megadeth the entire way through, I'm severely impressed, the guitar work especially at the start was super standout to me, the way you alter riffs to mimic AJFA mannerisms will never cease to be a joy to listen to
  • @the_BattleGoose
That Raining Blood bit was cheeky and im for it. This kicked ass.
  • Lots of people do AI covers, but nobody writes new Metallica solos like you do. Love it
  • @Davivd2
It's chilling how accurate this is. The instrument tones and Hetfield singing is so on point.
  • Insane result. You can really see the amount of work you put in the arrangement, details, etc. It's honestly crazy. Kudos!
  • @MarkBurgrave
Ah now I understand it. The song is from a different multiverse in that Mustaine wasn't fired from Metallica.
  • @oddlifestyle
With AI advancing like this for vocals, the “What Ifs” are about to reach a new level and I’m excited to see what you can do brodie!
  • @jakefriesenjake
My favorite Megadeth song on my favourite metallica album! Wow
  • @peterkawa
This is insane. It really feels like listening to a new Metallica or Megadeth killer track when I was 20 again. It's impossibly well done.

Not only is the sound on this one is so legit, but it sounds massive too
  • @kjl3080
This is written and mixed so well. Definitely the best thing you've ever made, and it's near the top of the best Metallica what-if's I've heard.
  • @YouLikeBosch
This is absolutely incredible. Would love to hear both bands react to this.
