Would have been helpful if you had asked Easterly to define "private credit".....It's a somewhat fuzzy concept for the average viewer, even for those who read finance journalism and follow markets.

Agree with Larry Summers' read on the current economy and that the recent unrest on US college campuses is concerning. Part of the campus rot traces up to university faculty and leadership, but one wonders what has made so many in this college-age generation so susceptible to indoctrination. Our hope rests with those on campus who are genuinely interested in learning and thoughtful resolution (quietly making their way, far from the cameras), and NOT with the screechy, attention-seeking virtue signalers.
  • I wonder where the economy would be had Fed tried to lower inflation 30 years ago. From 10%+ inflation. And after a period of tightening, the Fed would cut a bit because the economy would have been in a recession. This time is not much different. Economy still needs a period of relief from high rates. Need to pull certain aspects of the economy that's in a recession. Just because there's no official recession, doesn't mean the economy won't benefit from relief from high rates.

Please Larry Summers don’t say that the fed is making a mistake this week. Just admit that the economy is not as bad as you thought. Remember that you thought the fed chairman was making a mistake by not cutting sooner last month
