I TRANSFORMED this ABANDONED house and the NEIGHBORS thought I was CRAZY

This house makes the neighborhood look horrible. It's the 2nd house right when you drive in and the yard hadn't been mowed in quite some time. I knocked on the door hoping someone would answer, but after speaking with the neighbor, I found out that it was abandoned. I pulled out all the stops trying to contact the owner with no luck. After about 2 weeks, I decided to take it into my own hands...

  • The homeowner may never know what you did but neighbors are grateful. Thank you Spencer. 💯⭐💯👍🏻😇❤️

You are the first lawn care dude who has mentioned grass being deadly to motorcyclists, thank you,

The owner was an elderly woman. She may be in a nursing home or has passed away and you know how long it takes to deal with that stuff. You are an angel, sir. You help make this world a better place. Thank you.
  • The parents of this guy must be really proud to have such a good hard working son. You don't see such a hard worker much any more.

I remember during the recession of '08-'09, we had three foreclosures on our block. In the Spring, summer, and fall, my neighbors and I took turns caring for the landscaping to keep it clean. We even cleared the driveways and walkways when it snowed. Seems like a "lost art" these days. Thanks for bringing it back SB Mowing! Great job!
  • As a person who formerly lived next door to a house like this, I say thank you so very much for helping the neighborhood.
  • The neighbors are wrong, you're not crazy just a great guy with all the right tools. Thank you SB Mowing. It looks terrific.

Hey Spencer: thank you for your kindness & generosity. Not only did you make the property look better, you also minimized the likelihhood of vermin infestation. Years ago I moved in with my sister in Dallas, TX in a house situated next to an untended corner lot. Before I got there my sister had recurring problems with intruders & ENORMOUS rats getting into the house. The grass & weeds had grown to 5+ feet high, which provided cover for both types of pests. I bought a used lawn mower & started keeping the lot mowed which eliminated the problems. Again, thank you for your loving service. You did MUCH more than just make the property look pretty; you literally made the neighborhood safer.
  • What makes me so sad is to realize that this was a beloved and well taken home for, probably a very long time. 💔….life can be so cruel. Thank you Spencer to giving this HOME some wrll deserved LOVE. Someone, somewhere, is smiling. You are an angel

It was starting to look spooky, and you brought it back to life. Keeps squatters from discovering the house, and much safer for the entire neighborhood. Now it looks nice and neat and clean. Great job !!!!
  • I can’t believe how satisfying it is to watch someone clean up an abandoned yard. Good job!

If I had a yard, I’d hire you! It’s people like you that restore my faith in humanity. And thank you for being conscientious about motorcycle drivers and the grass in the street.

I think this gesture is an awesome example of compassion for home owner and even greater dedication to your craft. I enjoy watching your episodes because yard work and gardening have been my passion for all my life until I became unable physically to continue. Thanks for your example.
  • We need to take care of those as neighbors, elders and those struggling. As you are cleaning, the yard had areas that were not safe for an elder, as the walkway section with growth on it and bushes shoving over the walk. At 85, that is a large home for an elder to care for and apparently she no longer can. Appreciation for honoring her love of her home and neighborhood.
  • I hope the lady is doing okay. I wish she could have a caretaker living there, or rent it for some extra income, if she can't live there herself. You made it look nice for her. I kinda want to go plant flowers in those flower boxes now!
  • This reminds me of an experience I had in the late 1980’s. We bought a house in a new subdivision and there were a few lots left vacant. Most of the neighbors took decent care of their yards but the sidewalk was ignored and started growing monster weeds. I went around the whole subdivision (60 houses) spraying Roundup on the weeds in the sidewalk, and a couple of days later I went out and pulled or dug them all out. Even the vacant lots looked better! The neighbors all thought I was nuts but eventually I noticed that several sections of sidewalk were now being kept up by someone other than me. So even though some people didn’t like what I was doing, others were inspired by it. That was a big win!
  • I hope whoever is responsible for assisting the older person with the home is able to reach out and show their appreciation. In the meantime, good on you for making the area better for local residents.

Sad to say, being 85 there's a good chance she's in a nursing home or something now, and records haven't updated. Covid's hit a lot of elderly hard, not just through fatalities, but loss of caregivers, etc. Glad to see someone stepping up, even if the owner can't/won't ask for the help.

Hey Spencer! Nice job. When thieves see a home where the yard/lawn is overgrown, it’s their so called invitation to break in. God bless you for all you do.
