In the few short years since the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria formed, it has done the seemingly impossible, seizing vast areas of the Middle East to form a mini-state it calls a reincarnation of the ancient Caliphate. It is at war with all its neighbors and virtually the entire world, yet someone remains, and is launching increasingly deadly terror attacks abroad.

To understand how this terrible group came about and how it has grown so powerful, you need to understand the story behind its rise. And that is a story that goes back decades, to long before ISIS existed.

Imagine if Bush didn’t go to war with Iraq and Obama left Ghadafi alone. Yes both rulers where ruthless but we can all agree both Iraq and Libya where way better before the war than after!

I adore how he skipped through the invasion of Iraq as if it was a peace project. The reason of corruption and why Iraq fell weak to ISIS is because of the US invasion, Iraq was the most powerful country in the Middle East in Economy, Education, and Military, until the US peace plan came.

  • As a Syriac thats growing up in mass, my parents never want to talk about ISIS or the Syrian Civil war. All I really knew was that Assad is terrible but not as bad as his father, and they ruined life for my Christian family and others like us. This video let me understand it all better :)
  • We Muslims r also disgusted by ISIS...and I hope some people would understand that

I remember growing up thinking all the terrorist groups were the same thing, now as an adult studying the world it makes so much more sense to understand what they are and how the conflicts started.

Stop calling terrorists scholars, they are not scholars, they are not on the same methodology and understanding of the religion as the scholars of present and past, including the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ). They are ignorant rebels who's confident way of speaking makes people who are disconnected from islamic knowledge even more disconnected and follow them in their innovated understanding. The original understanding of Islam is still present, clear and easily accessible, but they refuse to follow it because what they want to follow is their desires. The Prophet (ﷺ) insisted on seeking knowledge and warned against innovation in religion but they are far from being scholars and deep in innovation.
