  • I remember Coach Roy saying a few years later that when Marvin hit that shot that made the Dean Dome erupt that it was the loudest he had heard a crowd in any arena. I definitely believe that too.
  • I love that intro....the music and then the graphics and the crowd always gave it a big game feel. I remember after the game, I let the dog out into the back yard to do her business, and I yelled out, "Woooooooo!". From out of the darkness, I hear a "Go Heels" from across the street, where the guy had gone out on his front steps for a smoke. I couldn't think of anything else but "Yeah!"
  • This game, and honestly the whole day in college basketball, was absolutely nuts. Duke had our number for the years leading up to this and with this win we got the confidence that led us to the championship. And right before that Illinois (unbeatable up to that point) had gotten knocked off. By the way THANK YOU for these posts. I'm just pumping through all these games haha.
  • When Marvin hit the shot for one second in my life I had a 40 inch vertical.

Thank you for posting this. Can't tell you how much this game means to me as a life long Tar Heel fan. One of the most emotional games ever for me personally in this rivalry
  • All the memories this brings back watching this. I was lucky enough to be at this game. I've never heard it as loud as that day. When Williams hit the and 1..all that energy erupted at once. it felt like I was in a earthquake. 2005 was a pretty good year for my heels.
  • I was nine years old when I went to this game. It was my first Duke-UNC game that I've ever seen live and when we were down 9, I remember just crying in my seat and shit and then when Marvin hit that shot..... God. I've never heard the Dean Come louder than that.
  • I was there I’ve never heard anything louder in my life when Marvin got that putback
  • @TheCman273
I've been watching unc basketball ever since March of 2004 and other than the two national championships we have won (2005 & 2009) this is my favorite game
    thanks for uploading!!!!
  • This day felt like an NFL Sunday on CBS with fantastic games down to the wire and the late game (this one) creeping past 7PM Eastern into the beginning of 60 Minutes. As Jim Nantz said, it really was a harbinger of Madness to come as the 2005 NCAA Tournament was a fantastic one.
  • @TJ89741
2005 was one of the craziest college basketball seasons ever. But one thing was certain for me. Nobody was beating this Carolina team. When that opening CBS theme played it began the madness of an unforgettable march.
  • @creydadj
