Chinese New Year Celebration in Xi'an China
What's the Spring Festival like in China's oldest city?

Xi'an China: I arrived in the oldest city in China to celebrate Chinese New Year here, which is also known as the spring festival or Lunar New Year. I am joined by my friends ‪@JetLagWarriors‬ and we are super curious to witness and experience the Chinese New Year celebrations here in China. It's out first time being in China during the Chinese New Years period, so we were not sure what to expect!

Join us on New Years Eve here in Xi'an, China, a city full with history and friendly people. Do you celebrate Chinese New Year? If yes, what did you do? And which name do you prefer? Lunar New Years, Spring festival or Chinese New Year?

China is so amazing. I congratulate the Chinese people for the wonderful country and their friendliness. I am ashamed how our western media and politicians tarnish with lies and manipulation that beautiful country full of history and many ethnic groups working together peacefully.

18:57 It's a voice activated fountain. The louder people scream the higher the water goes. No tradition people were just having fun.
  • @echooohce
After watching this episode, I have a deep feeling that when you embrace their culture, they also embrace you with smiles and enthusiasm. Happy Chinese New Year Ken 😊❤

Xi'an was part of the Qin Kingdom, which unified China and established China's first imperial dynasty in 221 BC. "秦尚黑", i.e., "The people of Qin favored the color black", considering it a noble hue of that era. This historical preference for black attire endures even today, which was probably why black clothing was recommended to you.

I get so emotional watching these videos in china, I spent a wonderful time there before COVID (2 years in total) With all the hate from the west which is factually 99% untrue I really wish people would open their minds and visit so they can see for themselves how much of a wonderful place china and the Chinese people are ❤ One day I will return to my spiritual home 🇨🇳

Let’s do this again soon!❤ Wishing everyone a great year of the dragon!🐉

A foreigner shows up in Xi'an and a lot of people are very eager to take a picture with you, but in Xi'an 1500 years ago during the Tang Dynasty in China, the most revered city on the entire planet at the time, the locals were not at all surprised by foreign faces, and they even often see these foreigners walking through the city center of Xi'an in 1500 year ,just like the old painted artifacts, just like you and Steve did last night. Happy Chinese new year "Ken Gao Fei", May your career be like your Chinese name.

China is such an incredible country and the food, people and culture is stunning. Oh gosh, Ken, you really look gorgeous in that "emperor costume", so are Steve and Ivana. What a great day to be a celebrity ! So many selfies going on 👍👏 Xi'an is amazing and the night view is excellent...so colourful and beautiful. Am happy and proud that you have an enjoyable New Year eve with Stevanna there. An awesome video with splendid content and footages ...so fun and entertaining. A big thanks for sharing, Ken.

Amazing comments on this board. Such positive vibes to kick off the new year. Your feedback is a slap on the face to those who defame China for political purposes.

When you shoot the video, most Chinese people have already taken public transportation back to their hometowns because they need to celebrate the Spring Festival with their families on February 10th. That may be why you feel like there aren't many people at the airport, because you're lucky enough to miss the most crowded time. I'm glad you enjoyed it, Happy Chinese New Year🎊🎊🎆
  • @ricotheman8139
Actually the official name of the festival is the Spring Festival. Or in China we simply call it New Year. It’s definitely not Lunar New Year, coz it’s not based on the lunar calendar. It’s traditional Chinese lunar-solar calendar.

China looks so advanced, like future travel to Year 2030 🎉
  • @sylviamawudoku
Yes, the Chinese are having the time of their lives, and it is more family friendly.
  • I love China and since I taught them ESL, I can vouch, that Chinese people are awesome.
  • @weizhu5603
You guys are having so much fun. I can’t stop laughing. Thanks for sharing💕.
  • @tomaskucera114
The water fountain is voice activated. The more noise they make the higher the stream should be.
