Hi! This trip was a really special one for me because it had been exactly 10 years and one month since I first went to Japan on a short exchange trip in high school. We stayed in the town of Nakagawa, near Fukuoka and it was some of the best memories of my life. I was able to meet up with my translator and mentor and spend the day with my host sister which was such a gift! I am excited to go back and visit my true hometown Nakagawa and see the rest of my family, hopefully much sooner than the last 7 year gap we had :') Thanks as always for being a part of this journey with me!

I imagine if you ran into Rachel (From Rachel and Jun) you two would be the only two red heads in Fukuoka haha! I’ve always wanted to go to Japan ❀️
  • that montage in the beginning was perfect! πŸ₯Ί japan has always been a dream for me too, and i hope i'll be able to go there someday.
  • I really love how you film because it's just a simple POV style so whenever I am watching, it is easy imagine and think what I will be seeing if and when I get to go there one day. As always, thank you for sharing =)

This reminds me of my Japan trip in 2016 when i travelled alone. it was one of the BEST experiences i ever had, i even lost 5 kgs just by walking lol. I literally walked every day without a destination. Best Feeling ever!

This reminded me of the Ghibli studio movie Only Yesterday. Have you watched it? It is so brilliant! I highly recommend. It is also about a girl who goes to the countryside and finds that she enjoys life there way more than in Tokyo. πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

I've never been to Japan, but your vlog game be a tear-jarring, nostalgic feeling! You are soooo good at creating these dreamy vibes and moods with your shots and music choices!!! I really need to get myself together and visit Japan already!
  • I'll never get over the magic of your vlogs, they're absolutely perfect and I love every second of them. I've been to Japan three times and I've come to the realisation that it'll never be enough so thank you for bringing me there a fourth time!

  • I felt so captivated, full, and inspired after this. Truly beautiful and the shots you captured are phenomenal. I felt a strong desire to want to study d learn something new and this has me strongly desiring to study Japanese culture and learn it’s history. Thank you for such lovely content!!

I love how the old footage from your first trip to Japan, with all the excitement and innocence, led into a present day adventure β™₯️ it was a perfect and realistic take on what it's like to return to a place of nostalgia, dealing with some unfortunate weather and planning troubles, but still coming out in the other side feeling grateful and loved 😊 I really hope you'll take us to your Japanese hometown in the future!

even though I've never been outside of Atlantic Canada, this is making me miss Japan πŸ˜πŸ’– the architecture on that side of the world blows my mind, it's absolutely stunning.

I just got back from living in japan and I’m already nostalgic RIP but hopefully I can do this with my city in a couple of years too :)

The opener of this video ripped my heart out. You perfectly encapsulated nostalgia of traveling abroad when you are young and just completely immersed in a new world with zero bias. It's like being in an entire different time and space and the vulnerability is fun and magical. Reminded me of my first out of the country trip to Rome when I was 13. You are such a great story teller! Also I def had the same billabong sweater! I grew up on a beach town in NJ so billabong (and roxy and o'neil, etc) were the only clothes I wore lolol
