I have to say one thing for the rebuilds - I love how they made Zeruel seem so much more sadistic. And rather than Eva 01 going uncontrollably berserk, Shinji activates it through sheer willpower. The context is utterly horrifying, but the scenes itself are so cool.

This song just really reminds me of how this was Gendo's plan the whole damn time, and how Anno somehow managed to make Gendo an even more horrible dad then in the original, by having him plan to use the attachment between Rei and Shinji in order to make Third impact happen early, like holy crap. I'm genuinely impressed they made Gendo more hate-able somehow

To this day, Im astonished by the sheer power of that scene

Whenever anyone in any franchise powers up from sheer rage, Sin From Genesis always plays in my head.

I think everybody's heart skipped a beat when Unit 1's eyes flashed and we realized it could do the same beam attack that Zeruel wreaked so much havoc with.

Unit 01 busting through the wall and absolutely slobber knocking Zeruel in the face is still my favorite “F*%# YEAH!!!” moment of all time.

The frame by frame showing Shinji to Unit-01’s overwhelming rage in the exact same pose was something I didn’t even notice in the movie until now! Phenomenal and thank you very much!!!
