WHY YOU NEED TO DO A HIGH SCHOOL EXCHANGE

Published 2020-07-05
today's video is all about the reasons why you should move your a$$ up from whatever you're sitting at and leave for 10 months to do an exchange year!! 🤠 if you're in doubt about going or not, you need reasons for your parents permission etc. i am talking about all the bright sides of doing an exchange, what i have learnt during my year and why i want you to go so bad :) there are several obvious reasons i didn't mention, like having a second family for life, eating new food, be in a different (and for my part way cooler) school expereince etc, but these are the ones I wanted to share with y'all! enjoy!!

Dear Christina, I like to say thank you. Your videos helped me decide to go on an exchange year to the united states. Most of the youtubers that go on a exchange show just the good parts. But you showed that it isnt always easy. Because you had a hard time but also showed that you can fight through those though times, made me believe that I could do it. So yeah, in september I will move to the USA for a year. Thank you for your inspiration❤️❤️
  • Another amazing video! What makes it amazing? Presentation, humor, and sincerity. As a former host parent I still enjoy following the exchange program. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences. Christina I appreciate your honesty sharing your exchange year. Good and bad, so others like you are encouraged to experience first hand another culture, language, and customs. As you know it's not easy for some to leave their comfort zone for almost a year. Move in with a new family, meet new friends, attend a new school that is totally different from what they are accustomed, but in a fun way. Sometimes handle problems on their own like doing your own laundry 😧. The rewards however will last a life time! Americans are traditionally friendly and outgoing and welcoming to others. Even to the point of knocking on their door to borrow ketchup. 😂🇺🇸 Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and just maybe inspirational for someone to make a choice of a lifetime.

"it's a life in a year, not a year in your life..." PREACH. I'm currently an exchange student in Germany (not as cool as america but it'll do!) and all your videos are fab :)

Hi christina, your videos are always amazing. Doing an exchange year is my dream right now and i’m aware there will be good and bad times but honestly it makes me want to go more, it’s an amazing experience. Now i just need to convince my parents :) i loved your video !
  • Elsker kanalen din!! Har kjempelyst å reise på utveksling til USA i 2021, og kanalen din har hjulpet masse med å forstå mer hvordan utveksling faktisk er❤️❤️ Takk!

It has been a long time since you posted this video, but I wanted to say well done for making it because it is very helpful to me since I am choosing whether to do an exchange in Italy or not. Have a nice day!

I’m 14 if I’ll go I’ll be 15 I’m a bit weird and antisocial so there’s that but as you said I’d never be able to experience the American high school thing!! Ofc there’s lots of tests to take and they have to choose who to send but I think I have a big chance my first language is Arabic but I think my English isn’t that bad one thing I’m mostly scared of is that school system here is very different than the American I’m gonna miss my junior year which we take so many important subjects that my senior year is depending on and my future job is depending on too! And I don’t wanna miss my friends but I’ll guess I’ll just go for it (November 1st is the last day to enter)

I can relate because on father's day I spent with my mom's side of the family and it was culter shock because on my moms side of the family they tried to nag me to do something and after they left I explained to my mom that her mom was crossing my boundaries. On my dads side of the family they don't nagg us to do anything. Sometimes I will try to do something they will say you don't half to do anything and I will say thank you. I am considered there own on my dads side of the family.
