A fragment of the movie August Rush where Louis and his son Evan play each other's guitar. I decided to show more than just the guitar part, since this was my favorite scene in the movie (and I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this way).

  • When The Good Doctor came out, everyone else either said "Oh my gosh! It's Norman Bates!" Or "Oh my gosh! It's Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate factory!" Me, I was like: "Oh my gosh! It's August Rush!"❤️

who else was practically screaming "HE'S YOUR SON!!"?

As a professional guitar player, I have been looking at some of the comments on here and I just want to say this. Maybe you are right that the kid's playing rubbish, even though it's not real and he's just slapping it. He is nonetheless playing music and it's good that he's doing what makes him feel happy and try to send his message out there. Music is something that can be used for so many different reasons for many different people. It's about what they use it for that counts. I continue to learn it to express my pent up feelings from when I was growing up and every day I try even harder getting better at the guitar. I've used not only their technique's in dadgad, I've also tried harp harmonics, scales, tapping, even percussion. At least the song is capable of listening to and that's a good thing. I don't really see what you're complaining about, however I can't really step in your shoes on your taste of music

The fact that it's his son and he doesn't know makes this moment 100x more beautiful

I find the statistical chance of two people with their guitars tuned to DADGAD ever meeting immensely low. But shh, my disbelief can still be suspended.

Now this is a father-son moment you don't see everyday
  • Evan and Louis played their guitars so beautifully together. I remember watching this movie during my pre-teen years, and seeing this father-son duo playing music together is the best moment of the movie.

Who's here in 2021? I've just discovered this masterpiece and I'd say this is one of the best movies I've seen. From start to finish it made me emotional and cry like a baby. I love this movie. Period.

The fact that they he played with his father and he didn't even know it, was unbelievable. I love August Rush. Great movie

This movie and this scene in general is why I started playing guitar
  • They found each other and didn't even know it yet. This scene makes my eyes weld up. Beautiful

You can tell that Louis felt something when he was leaving, the way he kept looking back at Evan. There was a connection, and he felt it.

This part kills me like I love it so much but it's so sad he's been looking for his parents forever and their was his dad right there
  • I watched this for the first time in 2007 when my relationship was falling apart and it is by far the best romance love story movie ever. I still cry when I think about it.
  • I'd almost left this wonderful film behind me after my wife became deaf.....we loved watching it.......trying to stop the tears from shorting out my keyboard here.....thanksMadMan

I bought a guitar because of this movie. I play it the way his father does, but sometimes when no one is around, I play exactly like Evan. Playing my guitar Evans way really helps me feel the music <3
  • this scene made me get teary eyed while I watched it. this was such a beautiful film!
  • Makes me cry seeing when two musicians who have never met before come together and can connect like that. I wonder if that still exists.
