Mystic Heart - The Diultan Knight

Published 2020-08-18
A new play-style I've been working on; the Diultan Knight! (To clarify, the game doesn't actually have a classing system; this is merely the name for this particular style of play). There is now an item that, when activated, will alter how the player's magic works. Their basic elemental spells will transform from projectile attacks, to ailment-inflicting spells with that have an AoE.

More importantly however, is that the player's Cure spell will be replaced with "Diultan Arts", which includes a melee attack that shoots a magic projectile, an attack that leeches the enemy's HP, and an attack that allows the player to inflict massive damage against an enemy upon blocking their attack. Powerful as these abilities are however, there is a risk; they consume the player's HP, so be sure to plan each move carefully!

In the world, the gods blessed the land with a force called the Naduir. Those with an aptitude for using magic could tap into the Naduir to commune with the forces of nature, and cast spells pertaining to the elements.

However, as the people used the Naduir with malicious intentions, the negative emotions brought out of the casters and their victims began to pollute the Naduir; creating a new energy called Diulta.

Being made of negative feelings, the Diulta would intoxicate those who became too exposed to it. At best one would lose their sanity, but at the worst they would die from Diulta poisoning, and potentially reawaken as a Corrupt; a hollow shell controlled by the Diulta.

However, there are those who learned to contend with the Diulta. With a strong heart, a clear mind, and the right equipment, one could bend the Diulta to their own will; and even use it for noble purposes. Still, those who use Diulta should be always be ever cautious, lest their own power consumes them.
