Another great win for Inoue. Kudos to Tapales….absorbed the Monster’s best shots, delivered many of his own and kept fighting till the end…..what a warrior!!

Inoue was as strong as expected, but Tapares is a great fighter who fought well despite taking four rounds of damage.

This is fearsome performance from Inoue FOTY2023. He fight on the back foot, ruthless, high level of awareness, break opponent rhythm frequently, granite chin, and never let his opponent show domination in moment for a long period of time. He is a special fighter. Like Shakur said after Fulton fight, “the monster real sharp”

Tapales put in a fantastic effort but somehow even a great performance like his simply isn't enough against the destructive Inoue.

Didn't matter if Tapales had his guard up or down, now that's power. Inoue is setting higher standards for boxing.

You can just tell inoue’s punches are heavy. Some boxers got that fast and snappy power but you can tell inoue’s is more on the strong and heavy.

That was insane. Kudos to Tapales, clearly gave his all, and I'd say was the first fighter since Donaire in 2019 to actually give the Monster an actual challenge.
But some of those shots that Inoue just fucking ate like they were nothing. And then return with even more power. That must absolutely destroy your spirit, to feel yourself land a great hit but make it look like it did no damage. Fucking scary -

Out of the light divisions he's the best by far, by far. Much better than Tank, Shakur, Haney, Garcia or Teofimo. I know they fight at lightweight or super lightweight but the difference is not that drastic. Inoue just became super bantamweight undisputed ( his second time being undisputed and very easily). I say defend the belts at least twice then vacant and simply move up to featherweight and he ll do the same there. He ll take the wbc belt from Rey Vargas at featherweight like nothing.

When Tapales was defensive, Inoue picked him apart with the jab and 1-2. When he got aggressive, Inoue pounded him with power shots. Tapales put up a great effort, but honestly, he was outmatched from the start.

This is one of the best fights I've seen in recent years. You can go back to this over and over again to study it. Highly impressed with both sides.
