Pursuit angles has it’s problems, but definitely not to the point where the game isn’t worth playing. (IMO) Honestly, it’s up to the user to determine what’s tolerable and what they will deal with when it comes to this. Both of these methods work, and it’s up to us to find the balance we personally need. You gave us the blueprint. If anyone is having problems from here, we have the abilities to adjust what we see fit. Sliders are just a tool for us to find tailor made gameplay.

What I've noticed on Heisman is that you really have to make a ton of user plays on the ball to offset the awareness. Basically user catch and swat about everything. It's possible, but very difficult. Like you said, it's just too unrealistic when you have defenders running routes step for step as the receivers do. In my experience using your sliders, the AA set with CPU awareness slightly bumped up seems to be the sweet spot for me. The pursuit angle issue to me really isn't one at this level because it's pretty rare, and like u said, that's football.... guys don't always take the right angles. As long as it's not every play like in 08 I don't see the problem.

The only “workaround” for NCAA 08 (if some REALLY wanted to play it for whatever reason) is you could use “no-sprint” on offense until you get into the open field. This won’t correct the pursuit angle problems, but it at least give the CPU defense a change to make plays. Using tips from this video with increasing tackling and awareness will also help in the cpu players having the ability to tackle better and react quicker to plays. But again this STILL doesn’t not fix or address the pursuit angles.

Purusit angles don't bother me as long as it's not consistent like in 08. It happens in 09, but not as bad and like you said, it happens in real life. The same stuff happened to me on Heisman so I hope your Varsity or AA sliders can get me what I want as the only issue I have left is getting the CPU offense playing better, mainly the passing game and QBs.
