Would you have forgiven Burt Reynolds' behavior?

I worked at the airport in Miami when Burt Reynolds was filming the movie Semi-Tough in the 1970s. He was the only actor in the film to interact with the airport employees. In between filming scenes, he would go around chatting, and signing autographs, he was very friendly. I remember him as a down-to-earth, sweet, funny man. I also read Sally Field's memoir and have been a huge fan since I was a little girl watching her in the Flying Nun. People are complicated...

I so love Sally. She is absolutely gorgeous- today and always.
  • How was Sally not beautiful and sexy?! She was a gorgeous all American girl.
  • I read Sally's memoir a few years ago she's so right because of the abuse she suffered as a child she definitely got into toxic relationships as an adult

This really shows us to “pick up the phone” or reach out to them we miss before it’s too late.. we never know when life ends and we can’t tell people that we love them..❤️

This is only heart breaking for Burt but Liberation for Sally. I love how her tribute after his death wad kind and warm. Really though, I feel she did the best thing for her, getting out of a controlling relationship 👏👏👏

it takes great strength to stay away from all that..I'm glad Sally Field walked away from it and avoided a repetition of toxic behavior! Love her as an actress!

In his prime, Burt Reynolds was THE most handsome man ever. And he was one of the coolest dudes too. How I wish Sally and Burt had been good for each other and to each other. They were the best looking couple ever.

One of the best actress In Hollywood
  • Both Burt Reynolds’s and Sally Field were/are great actors. I’m glad she was able to eventually get out of that abusive relationship/marriage. He might regret his mistakes he made while with sally field, frankly sally field deserves better.
  • I can see why they fell for each other. They were both adorable, and it is SO sad that it didn't work out the best way. With Sally's abuse as a child, it's a wonder she was as normal as she was. I'm sorry that Burt couldn't truly appreciate what he had in her. Oh well, such is life.😢

That was Sally's charm. She was indeed beautiful but in a 'plain' way, and that's how her incredible charisma and charm was able to shine. I truly think actresses like Margot Robbie are overrated in that yes they can act decently but it's their looks that light up a screen. That fades and that's why many actresses get depressed and caught up in chopping up their faces and bodies to reclaim a youth that's impossible to regain. And yet, when you watch Meryl or Sally, even in their later years they still shine so bright, command your attention and hold it.
  • Without the beards ,Burt Reynolds resembled Sean Connery. I was told he almost was cast as James Bond. This story is touching
  • I was surprised to find out how toxic sally and burt's relationship really was 😳
  • They had the best love affair I've ever seen in smokey and the bandit. It's just a shame real life is hardly ever that good. Lord I miss burt Reynolds.
