i feel like everyone talks about the shift to 3d but never about the massive quality jump from gen 2 to 3. gen 3 was revolutionary and it deserves more recognition for that.

My younger brother and I playing countless hours on our gameboy is one of the best memories of my childhood. I had Blue, Silver, Sapphire, Fire Red, Pearl and Soul Silver. He had Red, Gold, Ruby, Leaf Green, Diamond and Heart Gold. We both had Yellow, Crystal, Emerald and Platinum. Thank you brother ❤

Diamond gameplay is partially from the remake.

Just the amount of upgrades from Crystal version to the gen 3 games is staggering. To this day i still remember how groundbreaking it was and how everyone was talking about how they were the best games ever made for a handheld console.

The old sprites and shades of them depending on what game you bought is making me feel super nostalgic 😂 I love playing the older gens. Gen 1 to 2 graphic difference is nuts considering it was only a year apart

Year 1998: I remember exactly where I was at age 9 when my best friend introduced me to Pokémon and told me he just got Red and that I should get Blue so we could trade Pokémon. So many great memories playing and growing up with Pokémon.

I grew up playing Red & Blue, I remember getting my hands on Crystal for the first time - to me, Diamond, Pearl & Platinum are still new, even though they are going on nearly 20 years old now....
