Hi I’m Matt Lockey, welcome to my Coach Lockey YouTube Channel. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, and to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf course vlogs, golf challenges, golf tips, golf lessons, golf club reviews and the odd golf club unboxing. So pretty much everything golf!

I want to help you play better golf by providing coaching videos on all topics about golf. How to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
As well as helping you produce the best long game you can have, I will help you lower your scores by chipping better, stopping duff and thin chips, pitching the ball closer and creating backspin like the tour pros. Finally, I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts too!

slow down ur golf swing by starting fast, then slow down, then speed up, then slow down .... got it !
  • @abuhamza1970
I’ve heard a lot of coaches talk about this, but never truly “got” it until I saw this chap

Terrific video Coach. My ball striking and distance improved when someone described the golf swing as more of a SLING, not a swing. It just made so much sense. The lead leg is a brace but also a brake, in your example.
  • Paddy harrington always talks about this... but you made sense of it for me.

I watch way too many golf videos. The most BRILLIANT explanation it’s how to use the GROUND to slow down to gain the whip effect👍 that’s a key way to explain the importance of ground forces. I want to control tempo but never can. I see why

Awesome. Not a lot of coaches talk about this concept, probably because the pros all do it already. But an amateur does the exact opposite. He starts with the upper body not the lower body, comes over the top with the shoulders, his head moves toward the target instead of away from it, and he throws everything into impact instead of slowing the body down to release power into the clubhead. Thank you for sharing!

Great delivery, I can’t wait to try this…it makes perfect sense to me!! Thanks 🙏🏼

Gobsmacked! 😱 Something to do for next winter. I’m sticking to my current swing this summer.

Love this drill! I see so many people trying to “hold lag” or get the hands to the ball before the club head. By that time, it’s too late and you’ve hit a push fade. People don’t realize that you need the club head to pass the hands into impact for the most speed to be delivered to the ball.
  • This was, by far, the best explanation I've ever seen. The swing is a leading whip with the lead side...not from the trail side. Excellent!!

This Pro is absolutely insane!!!!!!! I told you many times ♥️♥️♥️
  • @WTSPC
Brilliant never had it explained so clearly definite lightbulb moment! Now get ready for the other YouTubers to come up with their versions. Thanks Coach.

This is the best illustration of this I've ever seen, even after 30+ private lessons. Thank you! Subscribed.

LOL… I never thought sibling squabbling would come in so useful for golf, but point taken Coach! It sounds counter-intuitive, but in terms of physics it makes a world of sense to get that energy out to the end of the club. We do the same thing with hammering nails, throwing things, chopping trees, etc… It’s like the good ole “Heave…ho…”. Of course…golf clubs are a little harder to control at times. Love this though!

I've been working hard on path and face control for the past few weeks and I've just come off the range thinking it was now time to start working on developing more club head speed. Can't believe how timely this video is .... thanks Lockey!!
  • Great insight. Never heard of this being taught in 30 years. Hope to learn moving forward 👏

Can't wait to try when I hit he range tomorrow. Never Ever heard this. Picked up golf when I retired 8 yrs ago. Hacker to start but slowly improving. Used to slice constanly when swinging hard, but this winter in FLA started swinging left across my body. Working to correct that. Not a long distance hitter. At 65 would like driver to carry 140/150 in the air and also develop the technique for a smooth fairway swing to get ball up in the air instead of linedrives. Thanks!

Been thinking about hand speed a lot – but really appreciate the way you broke it down so I can see how to get the right tempo
