For older cars, routine maintenance not only gives back power, but can lengthen the life of your car.

The best thing about doing your own car maintenance is that you not only understand how things work BUT you realise how many thin and seemingly fragile things keep you on the road making you extremely carefull about how fast and/or agressive you wanna go into your next sharp turn or top traveling speed :D A secondary benefit is that after spending many hours with maintenance and fixing things you definetly do not want to crash anywhere as it would mean more money and even more time invested into getting it back into its previous shape and condition. And you also have no time for drugs. Or the money. Or both. So it is definetly a good thing for your kids :D

We're still waiting on ideal boats and home
  • This is super helpful. I bought a rebuilt 93 Impreza a few months ago, and they're apparently known for being quite underpowered. Given the age of the car, I'm sure that HP is even lower. I'll definitely be using some of these techniques to give 'er a little more power.
  • I notice you guys repeat videos but everytime I think its gonna be like the last one you guys give me an updated list pretty handy and ideal

Did the exhaust upgrade. Headers, downpipe, flex, cat, and catback. Reduced weight and gained a lil hp. Did the intake too but that's always a first mod

Ive owned my 2001 Mustang Bullitt for 17yrs and have done CAI, gears, headers and xpipe and most recently a procharger. Previous owner did forged pistons/rods, so next up is heads/cams. I also just purchased a 1974 Dodge D100 with a 360 Magnum v8 from a 2002 Durango. I plan on starting with suspension and brakes. Idea is to make it a pro touring handling pickup. Power will come later on this one.

Many turbo cars can be tuned in minutes, adding over 60 HP for a Stage 1 (APR and others) tune. Cost is low considering the amount of power gained. My VW Golf R has been tuned for 5 1/2 years with no issues.
  • @Lv55Jack
1st of course full service 2nd Intake Exhaust Tune I would do this always to all cars.

I've got aftermarket headers, skunk2 intake/exhaust plus a carbon hood coming in soon, front and side splitters on the way, coilovers being installed this weekend, super happy about my build so far. need to replace my intake filter though, starting to get too dirty haha, my low end power is feeling lower than usual. I call my car Stinky the civic si. fun little 2010 coupe
  • @B1G1998
Thank you guys for this video I’ve been trying to add hp to my Integra
  • The tires give better ride and are an intregal part of the suspension. Fresh sidewalls do a lot!
