Series 5, Week 26, Day 5
Every day this week, celebrity contestants Alex Beresford, Mathew Horne, Martel Maxwell and Chloe Petts take on a series of quiz rounds selected by the host, quiz legend Richard Osman.
A daily winner is declared following a quickfire round at the end of each show, and the scores are tallied across the week, resulting in an overall champion being crowned on Friday.
Will the winning stars opt for the much-coveted House of Games decanter, or will they be tempted with the House of Games deckchair?

That was a remarkably competitive week. Really cool to see two legitimately good quizzers hands a true back and forth contest.
-
Aw, that was so sweet of Mathew! What a gent. Thanks as always, Mundo. Enjoy your weekend! :)

Well, I never grew close to any of this lot, but it was definitely a game well played. Thanks, Mundo!

I remember Matt from "Teachers" He was really good there. Nice to see him here. I have all DVD on this series "Teachers" love it.
-
I really did not expect Alex to win the trophy.
-
Thanks Mundo.
-
So close this week! It would have been fitting for them to have ended the day on equal points and have it all decided on a tie break but this situation was avoided by the very last answer smash.
-
Its FINALLY FRI YAY . TY MUNDO

Huh, I didn't expect to enjoy this week as much as I did. Mathew has this air about him that initially made him seem arrogant/icy and so I thought I might end up skipping this week. But he turned out to be pretty pleasant...
-
Lovely Martel Maxwell the Scottish Princess ππππ hooray
-
shortest answer smash I have ever seen...
-
I knew Gavin could do it!

Show Summary The percentages listed after each contestant's score indicate their win probability, based on historical data. (Spoilers below.) Round 1: Hidden In Plain Sight This game, surprisingly, has its first ever 3-3-1-1 playing. (14 out of 21 playings of this game are 3-2-2-1 or 2-2-2-2.) Mathew: 3 (35%) Chloe: 3 (35%) Martel: 1 (15%) Alex: 1 (15%) Round 2: Password123 Martel pairs with Mathew. Chloe: +2 -> 5 (56%) (+21%) Mathew: +1 -> 4 (21%) (-14%) Alex: +2 -> 3 (15%) (+0%) Martel: +1 -> 2 (8%) (-7%) Round 3: The Backwards Round No surprises here. Chloe: +2 -> 7 (41%) (-14%) Mathew: +3 -> 7 (41%) (+20%) Alex: +2 -> 5 (16%) (+1%) Martel: +0 -> 2 (1%) (-7%) Round 4: Where Is Kazakhstan? The map of Europe is used for the 18th time. The women are shut out in this game for the first time since S03E88. (And for the record: the men haven't been shut out in this game since S03E46.) Mathew: +2 -> 9 (74%) (+32%) Chloe: +0 -> 7 (13%) (-28%) Alex: +2 -> 7 (13%) (-3%) Martel: +0 -> 2 (0%) (-1%) Round 5: Answer Smash Across this week, Mathew had a net gain of 11 points in Answer Smash. That is the best Answer Smash performance from seat 2 since Josie Long's 11 points in Series 4, Week 10. (Funnily enough, the overall Answer Smash record is held by someone from seat 2: 22 points by Ed Gamble in Series 3, Week 1.) Speaking of week-long Answer Smash performance, I should have mentioned last week that Ria Lina's 14 points in Answer Smash was a new seat 3 record, breaking the old record of 13 points by Mark Chapman in Series 5, Week 5. Mathew: +1 -> 10 Chloe: +2 -> 9 Alex: +0 -> 7 Martel: +0 -> 2 Mathew wins and selects the wheelie luggage, which has been selected 43 times out of 62. Weekly Leaderboard Mathew: +8 -> 22 Chloe: +6 -> 20 Martel: +2 -> 12 Alex: +4 -> 10 Mathew wins the trophy, and Chloe is the first 20-point non-champion (the highest possible non-trophy-winning score) since Vick Hope in Series 3, Week 16. Chloe scored exactly 2 points in 11 rounds this week, tying Susie Dent (Series 2, Week 10), Alex Horne (Series 3, Week 4), and Holly Walsh (Series 3, Week 8) for the most 2-point rounds in a week.
