► In a world where music can be consumed at the touch of a button, do records still have a place in our lives? Why invest in vinyl and a turntable when you can just as easily pull up your Spotify playlist streaming right to your Bluetooth speaker? The answer lies in the experience. Any REAL audiophile or home theater enthusiast knows the truth...that vinyl sucks. It does. It sucks, BUT I LOVE IT. Here's a fun little video explaining why vinyl sucks AND WHY IT STILL MATTERS.

What turntable do you use? What's your favorite record of all time? Tell me in the comments below.

Vinyl is back for the same reason film cameras are back...the slowdown. Everything in our life is so fast paced, from people and relationships to information and how we get It...it’s nice to have a slow focus.

Everyone else's reasons for liking vinyl: Sound, Experience, Collectability. My reason: haha disc go spin. It's just pleasant, do I think it sounds better? Some do, others dont. But I enjoy it. But my wallet sure dont
  • I am one of the “kids” (19 y/o) he speaks of who are into vinyl now a days. I’m into them because we didn’t have them growing up. CDs were only still heavily used until I was like 7, then the iPod came out, so I never physically owned any of the music I listened to my whole life until a few years ago. I can’t remember what compelled me to buy a turntable and some records but I did and I love it. Something about being able to hold music in your hands in this massive form and being able to look at all the details on the jacket is so cool. Nothing like it.

I think vinyl is enjoyed so much by the younger generation because it offers something to collect, all while being a token of appreciation to your favorite artists. I have rarely actually listened to the records I have, but love collecting them. They are also great for decoration as well

The inconvenience forces you to listen....best quote of the year.
  • With Spotify you don’t own any albums. You just have access to it. It’s like a mini music store, sure you can have all you want, but you just paid to get in and you don’t own any of it. With vinyl, you really own the music. The artist created it and now you support them by really owning their art.

I like that vinyl forces me to be more selective in what music I spend money on so that I only buy records I can enjoy listening from beginning to end.
  • @cardoggs7861
I got into vinyls not because of the audio quality but because of the artwork. I love having the giant artwork and sometimes special notes from the artist about the album. Really feels nice and personal.

A good record collection is like a good book collection, that's why it's called a library
  • @AJOlesen
I think why vinyl is coming back is because (at least for me) having an actual physical thing that plays music instead of just using a streaming service. And vinyl could actually sound good it you have the proper gear, like with anything else.
  • @sbaldwinus
I have vinyl albums I purchased in 1965. I play them today 2021. I’m simply amazed at how long they last, how much fun it is to read the covers, how many memories they hold.
  • @JohnMabasa
“That inconvenience forces you to listen” Bingo
  • It’s all mental. It helps people appreciate the music more. The ritual makes you more committed to the music. Because you go “i did all this to listen to music, now to sit back and enjoy!”
  • @patsoes
i’m 20 y/o and i love vinyl. It just has a different vibe than Spotify. Vinyl is just a vibe, not for everyone.
  • @charonsferryold
Using vinyl is like driving a really old car. It's awful but in a fun way.

  • @mickmcmick8247
My favorite thing about Vinyl is albums. I feel sorry for people coming up in the digital world who only listen to singles. To listen to an album in it's entirety for the first time is a kind of magic. Queen, Alice Cooper, Meat Loaf, Styx... the list goes on. These are artists that made a collection of songs that together told a story. People need to listen to albums again.
