You asked for it. You got it! Top 10 Perks to unlock in Dragon Age Inquisition!

It's important to note that by the time you beat the game, you probably will only have about 12 perk points spent. So within those 12 or so points, it's recommended that you get the most out of them and unlock the most useful perks you can.

Most perks have some prerequisite like unlocking a previous tier, spending a certain number of points in that category first, or doing something in game, before you have access to acquire the perk.

One thing players may be tempted to do, but is a big mistake, is spend points in a category on perks they don't want, so they meet the requirements of points spent to get the perk they do want. Rather than waste points, the better idea is to search far and wide and acquire more agents for the inquisition!

By recruiting agents, they count as a point in the category for whatever their talent is. So for example, you may recruit an agent who joins the Forces of the Inquisition, and that counts as a point in the Forces category! So instead of wasting points, find agents and then once you have enough of them, you can unlock the perk you want!

My Top 10 Inquisition Perks

10. True Grit - Defense against all damage increased by 10%. Forces Category. Requirement = Capture a Keep

9. Deft Hands, Fine Tools - Allows Rogues to unlock Masterwork locks and possibly obtain unique weapons/armor, rare schematics and valuable materials! Secrets Category. Requirement = 4 points spent in Secrets.

8. The Short List - Merchants will now offer valuable Rare items for you to buy. Connections Category. Requirement = 5 points spent in Connections.

7 + 6. Antivan and Imperial Court Tailoring - Each perk unlocks an additional 15 inventory slots. Inquisition Category. Antivan has no requirement. Imperial requires Antivan unlocked.

5 + 4. Advanced and Master Focus - Unlocks higher tier 2 and tier 3 power for Focus abilities. Forces Category. Advanced Focus Requirement = 5 points spent, and Master requires Advanced unlocked.

3. Tempered Glass Flask - Unlocks a 3rd slot for potions, tonics or grenades! Forces Category. Requirement = 5 points spent in Forces.

2. Forward Scouts - Icons will now appear on the maps to show additional points on interest including Quarry and Logging camps. Secrets Category. Requirement = Capture a Keep

1. More Healing Potions - Allows you to carry for more healing potions for a total of 12. Forces Category. Requirement = 3 points spent in Forces.

Knowledge perks are always my go to they allow me to feel smart as a protagonist and also allows for many different dialogue options
  • @forgedude

Optimal cutting is a great perk, since it can get you loads more of materials when you are gathering, which is great when you need higher tier materials for crafting
  • @KineticGTR
I'm working on a 2nd playthrough that will give me a fresh batch of enemies to create and test new builds on! Hope you enjoy the Tips and Tricks videos in the meantime :)

If warriors can wall bash why do we need rogues to open locks? One good kick and no door.
  • I'd say that my top 10 would be 1-4: All 4 knowledge perks, with this you get extra dialog that let you get new agents and extra plot options. Also you get extra experience from every paper you can read, and there are a lot of those in the game. 5: Extra potions (Forces), as Kinetic said, in higher difficulties this is a must to keep happy adventuring 6: Extra flasks slot (Inquisition), carrying an extra set of potions or grenades can really give you and edge in battles when you're overwhelmed by demons. It is a must for battling dragons: Iron Bull/Reaver+ Regen potion+ Element resistance tonic = Dragon Rage*Infinite= Dragon slayer 7-8: Extra focus (Forces) Completely agree with Kinetic, 3rd tier focus abilities are awesome! 9: Deft hands and tools (Secrets) do you really want to walk through a locked door in this game and not be able to find what loot is inside? 10: The short list (Connections), It reveals that secret cool inventory merchants keep hidden. Every time you enter a region the cool item is supposed to change in the better stores. I've used this to unlock the best armor schematics that supposedly the Dog merchant in the Hissing Wastes has, yet I noticed that it always had the same unique armor and no matter how many times I reentered the area it didn't change and I couldn't buy the schematics. Maybe a bug in the PS4 version? Well this is my top 10 perks, I think the main difference is the knowledge perks I use and the extra inventory space I don't. My reason to not use those tailor perks is that if you're a bit picky in the loot you get (focus on the rate and unique equipment and statuettes, jewelry and other valuable for sale only items) and go to the store to sell those items after you return from each region there's no real need for the extra pockets. Hope it helps some of you
  • @truthfulheretic
I agree with most of ur list, but what I always get before any other perk are those 3 perks that reveal special parts in speech (underworld knowledge etc). These are the ones that solve story related issues (For example Sera's mission, or the Imperial court mission). These also open special missions on the map and are extremely useful.

0:15 "which require you, therefore, to either, for example" :D Just made me smile, no worries.
  • @Ryan-yf5dg
"Tackle the toughest and most ingenious locking mechanisms." Yeah, and I still get stopped from not having a god damn key.
  • @f4tbastardx
I've been wanting to do a 5th play through and this is one of the most informative vid about perks I found so thanks! :D
  • @marcharper5683
Just wanted to say thanks for all the vids. Very well done and helped out a lot.
  • @cyndinn
Thank you for the videos! I just started playing, have around 30 hours of play time and your videos help out a lot!!!
  • @kal-elkent7658
I think that you hit a lot of these right on the head. I've always got several characters created that I'm playing at once with different builds, etc. So something like this is extremely helpful to have on hand when I'm trying to figure things out. Thanks!
  • @GeorgianaOqueef
just got the game like 2 days ago, super confused about everything. thanks for the guides!!!!!!
  • @CleveStarke
Thanks for the help man . I've only just started the game and tbh I was a bit lost as I'm relatively new to this genre of game . All of your videos are really helpful and well explained . Thanks again and keep it up .
  • @domrolando
Some perks which I think are very helpful too are the knowledge perks which give you either extra xp when reading codexes or that give you extra dialogue options. Especially useful for the main quest in Orlais with the nobles and the empress. Also trainee herbalist (I think) gives you more herbs when you harvest, which in itself is extremely helpful if you want to upgrade potions/tonics or just replenish them.
  • @WonTomYT
cool thanks for making this video, it was helpful.  thanks for explaining the perks too i just grabbed the more healing potions, i totally missed that perk the whole playthrough so far, haha.
  • @kryptik7348
