I think Ellie’s mother would have done exactly what Joel did in episode 9. I also believe she would have liked Joel especially in all he did for her. Joel did the right thing in the end. The world was too far gone and broken for a cure/vaccine to make an actual difference. Yes, no one would be infected. But that doesn’t mean they were immune from being ripped apart, slaughtered. The infected outnumbers the rest of the world easily. He would rather have Ellie live a life and all of it be for nothing than Ellie dying to all of it be for nothing. Thanks for uploading. PS - I love your choice of songs especially the final song in Dumbledore’s farewell soundtrack to Joel & Ellie.

By far my favorite Joel edit. The moment I saw the scene where Ellie reads Bill’s letter I was like “someone needs to make an edit of Joel when the show is over and play that part when he kills the fireflies” and you did! I’m also so happy my favorite line of the show was implemented in your video “You might not be her father…but you were someones” pure perfection.

This is a masterpiece. HBO should use this as a recap for next season.

With all the changes they made in the show, I wished that one of them would've delved into Sarah's mom just a little bit. Ever since the game, I had always been a little bit curious about her and why she wasn't with them from the start.

This edit made me cry more than I did in the actual series.

I think the three parts that left me in tears the most was how broken he sounds when he tells his brother “I was saved by her, from another kid, because I was too slow and too fuckin deaf to hear him comin” and “I know you think I can still handle things but… I’m weak, I’m not who I was” and I think this illustrates how aged he has become and how his body is getting old and he is slowly losing his ability to fight, to survive. The next part was when he said “and lately I have dreams, every night…” and tommy asks him what kind of dreams. His response is so chilling and sad, “I don’t know, I can’t remember… all I do know is that I wake up and I feel I’ve LOST something. I’m failing in my sleep... It’s all I do, it’s all I’ve ever done. Is fail.” The worried and sad look on Tommy’s face makes it all the worse… at this point, in his early fifties, Joel is worn down and tired. He’s broken and he sometimes sees his daughter everywhere he goes. He dreams of her, of losing her. And he can’t save her, and he fails over and over again. It’s why he tries to entrust Ellie to Tommy because he doesn’t think he can protect her or live the life he’s lead anymore.

I’ve watched many videos like this in the last few days, trying to get my fix now that Season 1 is over. This is by far the absolute best I’ve seen. Hands down. The clips, the edits, the music, it’s all perfect and it left me sobbing. I need to get more Kleenex because I’m going to watch it again… and again…and…

Like most people here, I have been binging edit videos on Youtube, but this is hands down THEE BEST TLOU edit video I have seen. I started tearing up in the first 10 seconds. The way you have layered the clips and your music selection is just top notch. I hope this somehow makes its way to the creators of the series because they deserve to see it. Bravo!
