  • I feel the route is best experienced when done in a counter clockwise direction, starting North of Hinton at the Pony Bridge. It's a nice build up that caps off with a nice climb up Purgatory :) Sugar Creek Loop (and all the other Oklahoma Backroad Exploration Routes) are my first recommendation for folks new to wheeling and overlanding. OKC Overland just hosted a small group ride through the route and plan on doing more in the near future.

I often drive between Minco Binger on 152, and the land suddenly changes and will catch you by surprise in that area. A few miles west of Cogar, there is a campground called Salyer Lake. There is a spring fed Lake at the base of a red rock.

Great video. Of all the solo trips I’ve taken, there’s always that moment when I stop and ask myself….should I? Haha. I answer of course about 40ish percent of the time. Haha. 🤙🏼
  • This is one we have talked about getting out from Bartlsville Oklahoma and doing as part of the west part of Oklahoma
  • Purgatory rd is best after the dozer hits it a few days after the rain. Looks like you hit it the day after the big thunder storms. We hit it the Saturday of tge storm before it hit with a 2 wd 1500 and a frontier like yours and scraped down that spot up to your knee. Scraped bumpers to.

You’re in my neck of the woods where you said it was a great spot to take a photo of your vehicle. That road used to be dirt. Was really disappointed when they traveled it a couple of years ago. That pond is called Uncle Dans
  • Michael, sure feels good to see you out and creating content. I enjoy the content. P.s. let’s fix the squeaking noise, even Mark Doiron don’t have them, but he does have raffles.
  • you need to come to se ok and do K trail there are dirt roads for days down here
