"I found out that it's actually super complicated and convoluted" Warhammer lore in a nutshell
  • Am i the only one who would love to see loyalist wulfan leman and deamon corvus go up against lorgar and magus?

When talking about the Wulfen I like to bring up Bran Redmaw, the Wolf Lord of the Bloodmaws. The Wulfen Curse has a big influence on the Bloodmaws and Bran Redmaw is said to be tainted by the curse himself. He leaves command of his men in the hands of his Battle Leaders (LTs) and takes to the field alone or with a pack of wolves. He then transforms into a 12 foot tall Wulfen called the Redmaw. While in this form he still retains his sense of cunning rather than being a mindless beast. When the day is won, Bran returns to his men, an Astartes of the Vylka Fenryka. The other Great Companies are weary of the Bloodmaws and Wolf Priests keep a constant vigil over them though the company has always proven themselves.

Now that you mentioned how the space wolves are created, can we get a video/series on how every type of space marine is created? Maybe even a video/series on how every other faction gets more recruits Edit: i know most space marines are made in the same way but im talking about the rituals and/or tirals each recruit has to go through to become a full member of their chapter
  • The irony of Dark Angels being annoyed with the Space Wolves for doing something that they do all the time is hilarious

The bestial nature of the Sons of Russ is such an untapped potential. Just imagine all that their Successors could be beyond just "wolves in other color" ! Like, they should tap into many a predatory behavior, as the new Chapters evolve beyond the influence of Fenris. Really, Primaris Sons of Russ were an awesome addition which was really, really needed in my eyes.

Would love it if you did a deep dive on the Sisters of Silence. Always wanted to know more about them.
  • @Scudboy17
You have to love Ragnar Blackmane- he's the most Space Wolf of all the Space Wolves. He's a heavy metal album cover come to life.

I wonder if the Space Wolves were the legion that were “meant” to be corrupted by Khorne, rather than the World Eaters. Angron was easier to corrupt because of the nails, but the Space Wolves are so melee-focused and have powerful beast forms. It’s honestly impressive that they haven’t fallen to Khorne Edit: I’ve seen a few dornian heresy kitbashes, but not many. I have seen the one where the Angron model is changed to Russ. That’s part of the reason I’m on this train of thought, ngl. But there’s more to it than that. Khorne is said to often be depicted as a warrior with the head of a wolf in cultures that worship him. That makes me believe that the wulfen curse was deliberately put there by Khorne. After all, who would really make a better champion of Khorne? An empath boi who got turned into a mad boi, or a big scary wolf boi?

Wes just has such a happy face/pleasant smile. It warms my heart a little, which is really good when we're so often diving headfirst into the grimdark. Thanks for the content, Wes!
  • Love these deep lore breakdowns, the Space Wolves are a top five loyalist legion
  • "There are no wolves on Fenris" - Fenris was colonized during the Dark Age of Technology - As a death world the original colonists were "modified" to suit the environment - Their genetics were combined with something to allow survival in severe cold conditions - The Emperor also added animal DNA to some of the Primarchs - There are no Wulfen in the VIth Legion prior to the discovery of Fenris by the Crusade - Helix is a spiral (DNA is a double helix) When all of this is combined, it stands to reason that the "curse of the wulfen" is nothing more than the combination of wolf and human DNA to an elevated (unstable) level. Why would those of the 13th have an exaggerated effect from the "curse"? Because the Warp has a mutating effect and mutation is a change in the DNA. Before a Fenrisian undergoes the trial, he has the wolf DNA he was born with and is made stronger for it. During the Test of Morkai, additional wolf DNA is introduced causing the DNA of the aspirant to become unstable. If he survives, he continues his training/testing. If he succumbs, he is forever bestial until he dies. Then again, though all of the facts presented are canon, the conclusions are solely my opinion.

  • @Cmdtheartist
I've only ever been mildly interested in the Space Wolves, mostly just the Emperor's Executioner stuff, but this was a really good video. I am now curious about the Wulfen/Wolfen? and now have to add THIS to the list. Like I needed another thing. That's a long list I got. Thanks, Wes.
  • Finally!!! That's a video i wanted to see when i open youtube. Tkanki you ❤
  • @Sirscruggz
Man I’m really excited to see whenever a wulfenized Leman Russ to come back to the setting

When the Space Marines aren't Space Marine enough you Space Marine them. YO I heard you like them Space Marines, so I put your Space Marine in your Space Marine so you Could Space Marine while you Space Marine harder. Wes putting out a video at the end of my 10 hour plus grind to try and get Vex Mythoclast in D2 is a blessing to help me calm down from my hype of getting the gun I have been chasing for 2 years haha. Great Video as always my dude. I am about half way through while typing this.
