Cross-Generation Gaming Episode 1: System Shock 2

Published 2012-10-09
NOTE: There are some parts with no video. FRAPS won't record menu or movie video from System Shock 2. Just bear with.

In this, the premier episode of Cross-Generation Gaming, I (a 41-year-old old-fogey gamer) play a game with my much younger, hipper, 17-year-old daughter. Can the atmosphere and mechanics of System Shock 2 overcome it's rather awful tutorial and primitive graphics? Find out!

We did our best. We didn't have a stand mic and this house echoes like CRAZY. Future videos will be better.

Well, System Shock 2 came out in 1999, when Megan was three years old, so I'd say it's from my generation :) And yes, I have a video about SS2 mods on this very channel!

I, shamefully, couldn't finish this game when I played it way back when. Too scary. Granted, I was 13.

So whose generation is this game from? lol An interesting choice of game and an interesting bonding idea. There are mods for improving those primitive graphics you know.
