I know it was an honest mistake in the reading but it would be HILARIOUS if land raiders could actually take enemy units like straight kidnapping them lol

I guess flying up and over makes sense, since when the flying unit was behind the ruins, it was benefiting from cover. You wouldn't want to be hovering high enough for just anyone to shoot at you, if you could help it. It'd be kind of cool if there were a rule that you could willingly gain the "towering" keyword to ignore terrain altogether, but since they got rid of the ability to toggle between "gunship" and "plane" for fliers, they wouldn't add something like that.

Oh boy, been looking forwards to this vid! Have read the leak myself, but its always easier for me to absorb ( and pick up any missed details) with AT's dulcet tones going over the words with me.

I just got into the lore recently and wanted to start playing, but I was warned that a new version was coming. Thank you for giving me a head start on the rules. I've always thought WH40k was cool from afar, but I'm excited to get stuck in!
  • Im pretty sure flyers can still move over terrain. The rule about measuring diagnolly says "if a unit starts or ends its movement on a terrain feature", implying that they move normally otherwise.
  • @TheHOZ95
Thanks for the hard work as always

So... Tank Shock on Knights? With the leaked rules, the big boys might be quite useful as battering rams. Especially the spiky variety.

Where are people getting that you measure over terrain when flying? In both examples in the book it just says that you measure the "diagonal distance" between the start and end point. The top down example in the charge section shows it flying onto a ruin that has a walled edge. It just shows to measure diagonally from one end to the other, not up and over at all (like it shows for normal charging directly above).
  • Thank you for compiling all of this data in one place. Question, a unit that fights HAS to consolidate into either a unit they're engaged with or into an objective / into engagement range with another nearby enemy unit? Does that mean that the enemy unit gets to fight you for free if they haven't already fought this turn?
  • @scope40k
I just realized that the Actions section is completely gone from rulebook. Shame, it was a pretty solid mechanic.
  • @amaroqgrant3759
Unless I’m misunderstanding some thing, since you can only use each stratagem once per phase. That means you could in theory overwatch twice in one turn in the opponents, movement phase and the opponents charge phase. Provided of course you have the CP to do it.
  • @JaminStringy
Is there any restriction on how much of your army you can put into deep strike? Specifically deep strike not strategic reserve. Any help much appreciated 👍🏻
  • @mackmind
So it's a nice defensive change that heavy weapons are now +1 to hit when stationary as opposed to - 1 to hit when moving. You can actually stack two - 1 to hit bonuses against them, so as result they get - 1 BS

I wonder if they will say that ruins block line of sight to infinite elevation. I like putting my Retributor squad on the 3rd floor and shoot down from far away, but in 9th I wouldn't be allowed since it crosses terrain and therefore I can't "see" them even if they are visible from that elevation.
