Show producers: “you can’t play live.” Kurt: proceeds to swallow entire microphone while singing one octave lower
  • @EvanSchatz
"Look at that sign, it says ONE MINUTE!" Sign: One Minutes

The fact that Metallica played the most vulgar song in their ENTIRE catalogue when they were told to not curse is one of the best middle fingers I could think of. I'm pretty sure the original was banned in it's home country for a bit because it was considered too obscene. Freaking love it.
  • i feel so bad for chad smith for having to see fleas butt for that whole performance.
  • @JoroJojoro
These "refusing to lipsync" moments are the best thing ever.
  • Metallica being asked not to curse by MTV had probably the best result possible.

imagine being excited to see nirvana play live for the first time and they do that
  • @pogfish3961
Why is Kurt's voice so nice when he sings like that tho?
  • @yoshi41301
Flea wasn't being rebellious. Flea was being Flea 😂
  • “Load up on drugs, kill your friends.” Jesus, I was on the floor.
  • This video proves why Metallica and Iron Maiden are legends. The way they mocked the people who hosted the concerts was outstanding. Fucking legends

Metallica's rebellion was one of the only ones that genuinely felt like a Fuck You. Maiden's was adorable and classy lol

If I was in a band, I'd refuse to lip sync too. It's a shameful, talentless act.
  • The fact that nirvana had 2 spots on this list really speaks volumes about how badass they were

I like that Greenday’s bassist starts smashing his instrument too once he sees Billie doing it. Together until the end. Or until rehab.

Say whatever about Metallica... What they did to mtv back then was legendary. You needed balls of steel for this.

God I love that version of Smells Like Teen Spirit, Kurt channeling his inner Ian Curtis is actually so good.

Flea performing naked isn’t rebellious, the peppers have been doing that for years
