It's Adam Koralik here and today we're discussing a few stores in the British midlands of the United Kingdom called The X-Change, Entertainment World, Game Smart, Vintage Gamer, and more! Kind of a throwback video here. We'll be doing a full tour of multiple places!

X-Change West Bromwich here. Thanks for featuring us in your video much appreciated. Hope to see you again soon 😁
  • @Turnarcades
Great you got chance to get to Vintage Gamer while you were here bud. Yeah they were at the event but the shop is legendary and Nick, Sean and the gang are proper OGs of the Midlands scene along with us. Nice little clips of the event there too!
  • OMG can't believe you came to my local game shop Entertainment World. Hope the people of Birmingham treated you well.

Obviously the SMS was more popular in the UK than the NES, but the NES was also kind of popular, more popular than you give it credit for in the UK. I knew loads of people growing up that had a NES.
  • @RetroClaire
That Claire is a genius 😄 So pleased to be able to help Ben out after all that time! It's such a great system. Very underrated. One day I'll manage to get in to this one and it'll be back in action too 😍

So weird to see Adam in my neck of the woods. Yeah that Halesowen store is killer, nice guys too
  • @TheJaiwolf
Vintage Gamer is something else. Just rooms filled to the brim with games. An Aladdin's cave for sure. Cheers also for chatting to me at the event at Wolverhampton Racecouse. Great day out! Hopefully talk again at a future UK event. I hope you enjoyed your stay in my neck of the woods. Some great stores round here.

Seeing actual Toy stores today makes my inner 80s kid so happy!
  • @BenjiBearPup
Hey! Was great learning about some of these retro stores! These are literally about 5-10 miles away from me and I will most definetly be checking them out! Thanks for showing them off Adam! 👍
  • @Ikram232
It was good to see you in Revival and the prototype Saturn! Great video, it always feel so weird seeing places I recognise on YouTube haha but I love it!
  • Vintage gamers stand at the con was brilliant got few bits best of which was a master system converter 2, we definitely need to check out the main store next time up that way
  • @Goolix_Aero
Surreal to see you walking around where I live. Sometimes you forget that people you watch on the internet actually exist in the same universe as your IRL day-to-day!
  • @paltrax
That was a bin of wrestling figures at the first location. Wouldn't mind digging through that.
  • @EJayNine
Welcome to the Midlands, I see West Broms shopping centres are about as dead as the ones in Nottingham. We used to have loads of video game stores now its just CEX and a GAME.

Some great shops there. Will have to check them out ! Thanks Adam

Specifically, a Zero Tolerance link cable?! Obviously a man of culture! Really, though, anyone who knows about that gets major props in my retro books. So cool to hear not only that game mentioned, but the insane 2-player mode it had.
  • Cool to see demo disk again. One of the main reasons why i went PC gaming in the 90s was because all the video game magazine would drop demo disks inside the magazine to play new games to be released at a later date for Sega, Nintendo & or PS1, but the demo disk worked for PC only. Those demo disks usually turned into drink coasters. Ha-Ha!
