I am 82 years old and a fan of the S&G version, but I am totally overwhelmed by Disturbed's cover. It is fascinating, mesmerizing, and I simply can't get enough of experiencing the emotion. This is what great music is all about. World class.

Sirs.. just a note from an old lady who accidentally found this version of a much loved song while looking for the older version.... and fell in love all over again. Such a magnificent performance of this lyric. Well done! Very well done! Not generally a fan of your style of music, just a little too "much" for an older music pallet, although I have to say that I do very much love many of your lyrics and the raw passion and righteous anger they invoke in me over the injustices and pain we suffer on this prison planet... but your version of this song... damn... when I heard it, I was so moved. In a completely different way from the way the older version always made me feel. By the last verse of the song I find myself breathless, my heart pounding... I want to join the "ranks" and break the silence..... Thank you, it has become a favorite on my playlist! I also have to give a big holy crap to whoever put the graphics to the music. Perfection. And the lead singer's performance was also complete perfection. Perfect punctuation to the lyric and rhythm of the music. God this just fucks me up every time I watch it. It's so perfect for the time we live in right now. Thank you...

I am an old man dying of cancer and fell in love with the original soundtrack by Simon and Garfunkel back in the 60's. This once, Jewish Cantor takes this song to a different level for which I am eternally grateful. The strength, intensity, and power are simply inspiring. Thank you for a reimagined version of the original.

This has to be the best cover ever made. It’s rare for it to be better than the original. In this case this song wins over the original❤

This was one of my power songs I played daily while going through cancer treatment. Cancer free for 16 months now.

My dad used to play the original when i was little.He's 82 now and when i go back home he's playing Disturbed cover on full blast! He loves it.

Never would've expected a metal band to cover Sound of Silence this well. Color me pleasantly surprised.

I'm 63 years old, I know the Simon and Garfunkel version as my parents always listened to it, when I heard this version I cried, goosebumps goosebumps

I always loved the original version, but Disturbed's version expresses the true meaning and emotion of the song, way more than S&G's version did. It fulfills the intention of the song.

And in contrast to his usual aggressive rock singing/screaming voice, he sounds like a complete angel here :'D

I think both Simon & Garfunkel and Disturbed reflected two different aspects of this song beautifully. Simon & Garfunkel reflected the emptiness of the soul, and Disturbed reflected the tragedy and sadness. However, since there was more grandeur and passion in Disturbed's version, they win with the song for me.

In times of sadness i find my friend in the darkness, just to talk, crying and find my peace. This song gets me through shitty times❤
