I floop my dev card, he now spends my main phase creating a fully functional card game within this card game!
  • @wurmschn3693
Dude... you made something playable in such a short time, solo! That's mindblowing
  • @zephshoir
Something that is really neat about this being a work in progress that I don't think many have realized is that if the end product isn't to the liking of anyone, they could simply try playing with "a previous version" of it!
  • Can't wait for Holograms to be invented in year 2500 so i can play this game in real life!

    👱: "I floop the pig"🐷 🐶:"NOOOOOOOO"🌽

Can’t wait for the first meta: The Worm Meta

i know this is late but my theory on the pig doing less damage in the original episode is that maybe the pig deals half damage in mud regions, it did switch sides after the fight.

I have been watching your progress on making this, and it has been absolutely banging. I can wait to see what else you add 🔥🔥🔥
  • @Loayo
Now I can finally delete the actual game ☺️

Cool thing about the way you've implemented the economy is that it makes sense why they didn't play with it in the OG Card Wars episode - it was Finn's first ever time playing so Jake probably didn't want to use an "optional" mechanic to keep things simple for him.

i have been wayting all my life for this

The amount of sheer dedication you poor into this project is mind blowing! Keep up the amazing work.

You should definitely add different maps for trios and squads(gotta do the whole economy board again 😂) You could also change the amount of lanes in each kingdom as the player count increases. Radical! Excited! Trome! Card idea: Stone Man Stone Keyword: Stone/Human Attack: 0 HP: 4 Info: "Stone? Flesh? You never know... and nor does your enemies. Works in splitting damage. Can not attack or be moved." Unpredictability: 3(Can still have an existansional crisis :D)
  • Really love things like the economy system you've been building, I play a lot of MTG and I love unorthodox win conditions. My deck is packed full of weird card combinations that lead to instantaneous wins lol In regards to card wars the way to increase the economy's relevance would probably be to build cards that hinge on that gameplay mechanic more than others. Thinking in terms of MTG and some of its unorthodox win combos here are a few examples: -there are special land cards called gates, there is a unique card that makes you win the game when having all the gates. Couple this with lots of cards that let you look thru the deck and you're bound to win -there are special cards that have extreme penalties for yourself, ones like "you take 20 dmg that cannot be avoided" or "you lose the game at the start of your turn". These are meant to be high risk/high reward cards but I like to use the Harmless Offering card to just give them to my opponent to deal with. -there is an indestructible voodoo doll creature that deals dmg to the opponent when it takes dmg, I like to couple it with big spells that deal massive dmg to everything on the board for max effect -there is a combo where you set up two cards, one that gives you hp when the opponent is damaged, and the other that damages an opponent when you heal, all that's left is to gain 1hp or deal 1 dmg to win All this to say that when making new cards you should also think outside the very systems you've been building. Not just for the sake of instant win conditions, but simply to open up that possibility. Having seemingly overpowered cards that either require you to build a whole deck around it or to find other obscure cards to combo them with is part of what makes games like this fun and I think it could work really well with card wars, especially with mechanics like the economy. Imagine cards that turn money into damage, or damage into money, or health in money, and so on and so forth. Or monster cards that let you spend money to buff them. Or buildings you can upgrade with money. Or perhaps it's tied to how the economy is doing? Maybe I build a deck designed to ruin the economy because all of my monters are thieves who get +1/+1 when the economy is low. And you build a businessman deck who gets special defenses when the economy is good!
  • Super excited to see you develop this even more! It's inspiring to see someone following through on their idea so diligently.
  • @gurtithicus
This concept is indubitably TROME im so EXCITED for this to see this grow into a RADICAL card game that everyone can enjoy. Cant wait to watch the tournament!
  • @teamonger
You mentioned in your playthrough stream that you're randomizing the decks so someone can't just choose all OP cards. Maybe have a limit on the total health/attack/other of a deck? So you can only have a couple really strong cards, and have to fill out the rest with stuff like wandering bald man

Really awesome what you are doing here, love to see it. I would like to mention the possible element types that could be added based on what is mentioned by Cardwars media. Jake says there are a total of 16 in the show, but is cut off while mentioning them. The transcript manages to tell a total of 9 elements (Corn, Wheat, Blue, Crystals, Acumen, Torpor, Frozen Lakes, Lizard Holes, and Learning). The videogame has 6 (Corn fields, Blue plains, Nicelands, Sandylands, Useless Swamp, and Rainbow). The card game seems to have 1 extra compared to the videogame, but sounds pretty similar to frozen lakes (Icylands). So the best accumulated list of elements I got so far is... - Acumen ("Judgement.") - Blue - Corn - Crystals - Ice (I seperated Frozen lakes and Icylands into two distinct categories.) - Lake - Learning - Lizard - Nice - Rainbow (Neutral cards I believe) - Sand - Swamp - Torpor (Inactivity/Sluggishness.) - Wheat 14/16, and 2 left for the imagination. It really is up to you though. That was just the best list I could come up with.
